Life can be stressful sometimes. It can be overwhelming and overly exhausting. If you're in college especially, these last couple weeks of the semester are equivalent to a rollercoaster of chaos. Suddenly you're scheduling your day by the hour, forgetting to schedule time for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You prioritize your responsibilities and deadlines before your personal health and sanity. Sleep is unheard of. Your gym schedule is in complete ruins. Your life? A complete mess.

The past couple of weeks have been the craziest of weeks I have ever experienced. From having so many responsibilities on my plate with only 24 hours in the day, I was forced to pick and choose what to take care of first. Nine times out of ten, it was not myself.

Weeks were going by where I was barely eating, hardly sleeping. I was jumping from one task to the next without rest. I realized that my best work was not being put forth because physically and mentally I was not there.

I recognized that something had to change because at this rate, I was holding myself back from putting in my best work. I started scheduling some "me time" throughout the day. Even for a short 20 minutes where I reserved the time to not think about everything I had to do. I took the time to evaluate my headspace and understand where most of my stress was coming from.

Although at first, I felt guilty about taking 20 minutes away from all the tasks and responsibilities I had to do, I instantly noticed a drastic change in my day's approach. I started feeling less guilty about taking some time for myself and started to appreciate it more and more.

I took the time to buy myself coffee in the midst of chaotic days. I even took the time to get my nails done because it is something that makes me feel good. Ladies, we all know that when our nails are freshly manicured, we can take over the world.

So where I am getting at is, it is OKAY to reserve some time throughout the day for yourself. Treat yourself. Treat yourself whenever you need an escape from all the stress and obstacles life throws your way. Don't feel bad about buying yourself something nice every once in a while. Don't feel guilty for eating your meals or for getting your good night's rest because if you don't take care of yourself first, all the work you set out to do won't be an accurate representation of your abilities.

Treating yourself is good for the soul. Take it all in!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
