Travel Bucketlist
My Destination

There are so many places to see around the world that many don't even bother to view. Just like a lot of things in life, people's fear hold them back. There are so many misconceptions that travel is too expensive, or that it's too dangerous to do it alone. All I can stress is do your research. It is completely possible to do these things. There are hundreds of sites and blogs that give you tips on cheap traveling or how to handle doing it alone. There are also ways to reach out for support with other young people who may be in the same situation, eager to explore but nervous about the missing companionship for the journey.

I myself use to let delusion and distress of those things control my ability to travel. Then one day I just woke up and decided I was going to change those doubts, and just went for it. Since forth I have crossed ten things of my version of a bucket list, a travel list. I have now gained the want to educate myself about cultures and locations I may never had desired to before. I have learned so much about myself as well in this process. Travel changes you. So here I give you 20 off my own personal list that I have yet to cross off, in hopes it inspires all of you to write and go after locations and adventures of your own. In the words of our good friend Shia LeBeouf, just do it.

1. Trek to Machu Picchu, Peru.

Located 2,430 meters above sea level in the Andes Mountains lays this magnificent piece of unknown history. It has been said that it could have been a place of royal or religious practices for the Incas, but no exact evidence has ever been located. It now is the most visited tourist area in all of Peru and attracts crazy travelers like myself from all over to trek to the top and explore this amazing "city."

2. Take a boat through the Blue Grotto in Capri, Italy.

This beautiful sea cave is located on the coast of Capri. Its small opening allows for light to be placed on the water creating a reflection of this gorgeous blue hue on and throughout the cave walls. History dates that is was used as a personal swimming hole for Emperor Tiberius during ancient Roman times. Now people flock to this location for an opportunity to take a boat inside or even swim yourself in the wondrous waters.

3. Share the Tunnel of Love in Ukraine with someone special.

This green filled archway is both a railway and a real life love story to locals. Those in Ukraine believe that if you truly are in love with someone, and walk hand and hand down the path, all your dreams together will come true.

4. Reflect on life at Edge of Preikestolen in Norway.

This sight to be seen is also known as Pulpit Rock, formed during the ice age and now known as the largest tourist location in Norway. Though the cracks on the cliff mark evidence that eventually the plateau will fall completely in time, it has been proven for safety to go on the ledge at this time.

5. Hangout in Devil's Pool in Africa.

This one however is a bit different. It has been named one of the most dangerous travel locations in the world. It attracts those probably a bit more in it for thrill not just voyage. Atop the 360 foot high Victoria Falls, along the edge of Zambia lays a rock wall that slows current and allows swimmers to not directly fall with the water. There are no direct ways to book this excursion currently, you must go through private local guides.

6. Journey through Three Capes Track in Tasmania, Australia.

Recently this track became open to the public and though not much information is available yet about what is exactly included in this adventure, it is known as one of the most exciting walks on some of the dramatic coastal cliffs in all of Australia.

7. Enjoy natural beauty at Fairy Pools in Scotland.

Located in the Isle of Skye is this breathtaking natural beauty, which creates the illusion that you are basically in a storybook. Taking the hike along this trail has been said to be unlike anything ever experienced before.

8. Learn at the Temples of Angkor in Cambodia.

Located in Cambodia is Angkor, which starting from about the ninth century was the capital city of the Khmer Empire. As you can imagine this place is filled with rich world history and is now one of the most visited tourist locations in the entire world.

9. Swim in the Dead Sea in Israel.

Known as one of the saltiest and lowest points on earth, bordered by both Israel and Jordan, it shows many health and relaxation benefits for those who choose to take a float on the water.

10. Hike Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Highest mountain in Africa and still holds a dormant volcano. This mountains interesting scientific history and marvel has become a desire for many to attempt to reach the top, in the clouds. Its highly encouraged to do research to ensure you are prepared to take on such a trek, as many who do take on this spectacle end up with acute mountain sickness -- also the high elevation can become life threatening.

11. Dive in the Great Barrier Reef.

Great Barrier Reef is the largest living thing which can be seen from space, located on the coast of Queensland. It homes hundreds of islands and thousands of different types of living species including fish, sharks and turtles. It is the most colorful dive experience you can ever partake in.

12. Indulge at Blue Lagoon in Iceland.

This geothermal spa is located on the Reykjanes Peninsula in a lava field. It is the most visited attraction in Iceland and holds many minerals that have shown to help people in general with skin health as well as those who may have a skin disease.

13. Camel Ride in the Sahara Desert.

Morocco is rich with culture and there is nothing like partaking in a travel tradition that has been around forever. It's going to be hot, but there will never be a sunset or adventure like it anywhere else in the world.

14. Safari in Okavango Delta.

Known as one of Africa's top safari destinations. This water wilderness area spreads over 15,000 kilometers and is a seasonal home to some of the most stunning and rare animals in the world. The delta is estimated that its has around 200,000 large mammals seasonally, as well as 400 species of birds and 71 fish species.

15. Meditate at Moon Palace in India.

Though this is simply a grand room in a resort located in Gujarat, India, I have found so much personal interest in this room. I have always had an allure in the cultural and history that India presents. There are many of other places to visit that hold that value as well such as Hampi. The architecture and color are just so vibrant, among like anything I have seen elsewhere in this world. This room specifically holds feelings of peace that locals have explained to tourists as a draw into their resort.

16. Eat your way through Italy.

Tuscany, Bologna, Piemonte, Lazio, Abruzzo, Rome, Naples, Calabria. I could keep naming until there wasn't any space left. Basically, for a foodie, this is a dream. There is nothing quite like the rich and fresh taste of Italian food, so obviously getting the real thing is ideal, so why not make a trip out of it? Take in sights, history and culture -- also probably some wine.

17. Dream in the Wisteria Flower Tunnel in Japan.

The scent and fairy-tale-like scene that wraps around you here in this tunnel in Japan has been described as nothing short of beautiful. Tourists and locals alike often are found just alone with their thoughts on these benches for hours at a time.

18. Ride the Trans-Siberian in Russia.

The history behind this railway links all the way back to the 1800's, with its effects clearly present in the war. Many who get to experience the train today say the ride is nothing short of that same history being brought to life.

19. Stay in an over water bungalow in Bora Bora.

There are 11 separate resorts in Bora Bora that host these unique stay experiences. Many of which have glass bottom floors so you can catch a glimpse at the sea life that may show up below you. The direct island and water access from your private room show to be a popular attraction, and after 30 years, it still is one of the most sought after vacations from island lovers around.

20. Have a beer at Oktoberfest in Germany.

One of the largest festivals of its kind. The 16-day event in Munich presents attractions and traditions including vast amounts of beer, my favorite. It comes from a line of history and still creates that culture today, including native foods and music. It's basically a one of kind experience I have wanted to partake in for forever now -- along with thousands of others I'm sure.

So there you have it, a piece of my list unfinished. Now it's time for you all to make one of your own. Just don't let life get in the way of crossing them off and don't let anything stop you. This world is huge, so never stop exploring.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
