A Letter To All Of Those Who Don't Think Being Nice Or Making Someone Smile Is A Chore

You have no idea how great of an impact you make on everyone so here's to you!

I've had quite the week in terms of the people I've experienced on the daily, to say the least. It's hard to remember sometimes that kind and considerate humans do exist in the world still. Quite honestly, it's people like you that have been super helpful to me recently in my journey of self-discovery so I guess I owe any improvements to all of you amazing human beings. Thank you for overshadowing the humans I'd rather avoid. Truly, you make going outside so much better.

There are so many of you specifically that I'd love to shout out, but unfortunately, there isn't enough room for that so I'll just have to be a little broader here. Since it's the most recent occurrence, I'm especially grateful for those of you living in a dorm who don't treat the hallway like a club or a racetrack. Thank you for not shouting at the top of your lungs at 1:30 in the morning and jumping over invisible hurdles when some of us really need the sleep. I appreciate you being quiet saints who are actually respectful, keep quiet, and say hello or smile when walking by in the hallway. I'm not saying having fun isn't allowed, but please don't do it at 1 am!

The creative masterminds also deserve a ton of credit. Seriously I love walking around and just seeing all of your art everywhere, hearing your music, watching your unique performances, or experiencing fantastic introductions of classmates in class (even if that one is required). I really want to jump and praise all of you for how legitimately amazing you are, but my little quiet soul runs away from that, but just know that you're super appreciated. A few of you specifically come to mind and maybe you'll read between the lines, but a massive thanks also goes out to you for putting a smile on my face. Each of you light up the world in so many ways and you're also the best people I've had the pleasure of having conversations with (maybe mini conversations since I'm working on real conversations...).

I can't write this article without sharing some love for the teachers out there. Seriously though, if you really think about it, teachers are gifts for dealing with everything they put up with. They are constantly expected to speak up in front of hundreds of students, some of which don't care about anything or anyone. I had a teacher in high school who almost felt like my best friend because he knew how I was as a person and made it his mission to make sure I was always feeling welcome and happy. Now that I'm in college, I've found another that's been extremely helpful and made such a considerate offer to me. Teachers are actual superheroes and I'll be here all day if you think otherwise.

It's hard not to go on forever with thank you's here, so here's one big, fat, gigantic thank you to all of the gems mentioned above and to all of the others I couldn't mention. I seriously wish there were more people like all of you in this world. Someone let me know when it's possible to clone humans so we can have more like all of you instead of violence. You are all walking blessings and I'll be forever grateful.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
