The air is beginning to chill, leaves litter the ground, and candy corn can be found at just about every store, fall is here! Along with fall comes the most wonderful time of the year, Halloween! There are waaaaaay more than ten spooktastic things about Halloween, but homage must be paid to the most iconic in no particular order.

1. Halloweentown

This Disney Channel Original Movie is one of the BEST parts of the season. Who doesn't enjoy watching this classic each and every time it airs on Disney Channel? To make matters even better, the movie has three sequels so if you get sick of this one (unlikely) you'll have other options.

2. The Limited Edition Food

Orange Kit Kats, Reeses' Pumpkins, candy corn M and M's, the list could go on and on for all eternity. These tasty treats are just too good not to stock up in bulk.

3. Monster Cereals

Keeping with the food category, no one can forget the greatest group of all time, Count Chocula, Franken Berry,Frute Brute, Yummy Mummy, and Boo Berry. Those cereals never disappoint.

4. Haunted Trails

Tis the season for getting scared beyond belief. Haunted trails are a must during the Halloween season. Getting spooked with your friends in the cold of an October night is the perfect way to spend an evening.

5. Halloween Parties

Who doesn't love a good Halloween party? Costumes and creative holiday treats are a wonderful combination. Winning the costume doesn't hurt either especially when you've been working on your costume since December.

6. Pillsbury Shape Cookies

Need I say more?

7. Halloween TV Specials

13 Nights of Halloween, 31 Days of Halloween, AMC FearFest, the options are endless and oh so gory. You can watch Beetlejuice and Friday the 13th in the same night so what's not to love?

8. Halloween Stores

Spirit Halloween offers everything you could possibly need for a successful Halloween. You could spend hours in there just looking at the mask section alone and then the ever terrifying animatronics.

9. Halloween Decorations

Halloween lawn displays bring you more joy than Christmas lights do and that's a-okay. Everybody loves a good blow up pumpkin amongst cardboard grave stones.

10. Jack-O-Lanterns, Ghosts, Monsters, Cemeteries, Basically Any Creepy Halloween Symbol

The staples of the holiday are half the fun. It's difficult not to enjoy each and every bit of it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
