The summer is always inevitably filled with free time to lie out, find a new hobby, and, of course, binge watch tons of TV on Netflix. Whether you're planning on traveling this summer or working in the hot sun or in a small cubicle, here are some shows that are a great way to fill the three months between school years.
1. "How I Met Your Mother"
Have ya met Ted? Well if you haven't, then this summer is the perfect time to. Two summers ago I watched all nine seasons in three weeks and haven't regretted it since. The show is humorous and never dull. It's only 30 minutes so it's pretty easy to get through a few episodes in the little down time you may have.
2. "Grey's Anatomy"
This show has had so many twists and turns, Shonda Rhimes really out does herself. Watching "Grey's Anatomy" is frankly a necessity, so much of what I talk about comes from this show. And, I am pretty sure just from watching this show I could perform open heart surgery if I needed to. Be warned, it gets emotional.
3. "Gossip Girl"
If I could, I would watch this show over and over again. This show defines what I thought high school would be like, and I'm still pretty disappointed it didn't quite crack up to be like that. This show is so entertaining, plus the entire cast is just so amazing to look at. XOXO.
4. "Friends"
When I hear this song, it automatically brings a smile to my face. I want to be part of this squad more than anything. This show is fun and witty and enjoyable to watch. It just such a must see show, and ever since it was put on Netflix, there is no excuse to not just binge watch all 10 seasons.
5. "Orange is the New Black"
Based on a true story, the first few seasons of this show has been nothing short of fascinating and wildly entertaining, and I'm sure the next season, coming out this summer, will not disappoint. It is a look into a women's prison, something I knew nothing about before. The always evolving backstories of the characters always ensure there is an interesting plot line and it is so easy to watch 10 hours of this show without even realizing how long it has been, be careful.
No matter what you spend your summer watching, make sure to take the downtime you deserve after the hard work you've put in for the semester and for finals. Happy watching!
