Young or old, single or taken -- these lyrics probably make you feel better about yourself, because at least you are not this desperate. 

1. I can't breathe without you but I have to. Sadly, here it seems that a boy is relatable to Taylor's source of oxygen. Thank goodness she realizes that even though he doesn't want her, she must continue to vital activities such as breathing.

2. Of all the girls tossing rocks at your window I'll be the one waiting there even when it's cold. Taylor will do absolutely anything for this one. Wait out all the other girls and stand outside as long as it takes, because that seems like a sensible way to get a boy to notice you.

3. I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here 'cause I remember it all, all, all... too well.  Taylor is, literally, a piece of trash on the floor because she remembers her relationship that went wrong.

4. So I'll go sit on the floor wearing your clothes, all that I know is I don't know how to be something you miss. While he may have broken up with her, wearing his clothes may provide Taylor some comfort while she wallows in self pity. If only she was something worthy of missing in the eyes of a certain Jonas Brother. Or a guitar player, or a 1D member, or a prince. The list goes on.

5. You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand. The only thing Taylor really knows is this guy -- forget any other knowledge up there in her brain.

6. I'll put his picture down and maybe get some sleep tonight. What girl doesn't have a picture of the guy she likes who dates another girl on her nightstand? It must be normal and healthy if T-Swift does it.

7. All those times that you didn't leave it's been occurring to me I'd like to hang out with you, for my whole life. Finally -- someone who will stay, even when Taylor gets angry or sad or crazy. If they stick around, the only logical solution is to marry them.

Ultimately, the joke is on me because I knew all of these lyrics from memory. Taylor may be scrutinized for her desperate sounding proclamations of love, but her songs sure are catchy. Admit it, you all probably knew some of these lyrics, too.
