Although we don't wish to revolve our lives around any television series, there are some that are worth mentioning. Especially when the series provokes the power of women. The social media world is so concentrated around male characters, and women are only other characters that play the romance part of the series. As time goes on, many TV series have shown not only men can be powerful, but women too. So here are some TV shows that have really accentuated women power.
1. "Grey's Anatomy"
From the start, "Grey's Anatomy" casted a lot of power women. Starting from Callie, Bailey, Arizona, and, of course, Meredith and Christina, "Grey's Anatomy" showed viewers that it's possible for women to be as smart and capable as men. Also if Meredith's life story isn't powerful, I don't know what is.
2. "One Tree Hill"
"One Tree Hill" overall portrays a great message about being one's true self. The main women stars have shown how others can be proud in their own skin. A major character, Brooke Davis, staring since season one, reveals to viewers what it's like to be in a society where women are objectified and how she became her own boss of a famous company that she built on her own. As cliche as is it, OTH definitely shows girl power.
3. "The Fosters"
One of the first TV series on ABC Family to produce a show based on a same sex marriage family. "The Fosters" show the complexity of the meaning of family and also accentuates the phrase "love is love." The women on this show, such as the parents, Stef and Lena, both have jobs that show their powerful impact in the community. Then there is Callie who has a very difficult childhood, where she always had to take care of herself and her little brother Jude. Callie, Lena, and Stef are great characters to look up to.
4. "Gilmore Girls"
The ultimate girl power TV series that I grew up watching. If you haven't watched this, this is an absolute must. Lorelei Gilmore, mother of Rory, has given so much advise about being a woman in this world. Being a single mother and being able to manage her own business, really inspired me as a young girl. Then there is Rory, a brilliant girl, who has gotten accepted into Yale and pursues all of her dreams and passions.
