If you were to ask me what my hobbies consisted of, one would be watching movies. I honestly re-watch movies too much, and if I like it enough, I quote it non-stop. I'm like Tony from "NCIS," only shorter and less obsessed. As a movie lover, though, I am here to tell you my top eight go-to movies and why they are my all time favorites to grab off of the shelf!
1. "Remember the Titans," 2000
This is my favorite movie of all time, for many reasons: it teaches teamwork, adversity within races, determination, etc. It's also a plus to watch Ryan Gosling when he was younger! YUM!
2. "Legally Blonde," 2001
Elle Woods is goals when it comes to her positivity toward life and how to make others feel confident in their shoes. From doing the Bend & Snap (which I know we've all tried) to solving a murder case, it's no wonder she's my favorite. She's fearless!
3. "Pitch Perfect," 2012
"Pitch Perfect" altered my perception of a cappella on a whole new level! From watching the tryouts of the song "Since You've Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson to Fat Amy getting a meatball sandwich thrown at her by Bumper. Leading to the incredible performance by the Barden Bellas at the ICCA championship, this comedy is a must see!
4. "Say Anything," 1989
What girl doesn't dream of having a Lloyd Dobler standing outside her bedroom window, holding a boombox playing the first song they ever made love to? Sign me up! This classic coming of age film is perfect for a romantic at home date with buckets of buttery popcorn.
5. "The Day After Tomorrow," 2004
I'm known as a "tree hugger" to most of my friends, and this science fiction thriller is all about global warming and the melting of ice caps. But what really makes this movie amazing is the courage Sam Hall has to protect his friends and the limit he exceeded doing it. Also, Dennis Quaid is brave for going through intense weather to get to his son! Where are the tissues?
6. "Frozen," 2013
Singing "Let It Go" over and over again after seeing this movie roughly 100 times never gets old (at least for me!). This Disney movie is adorable, and if you haven't seen it, shame on you! The tale between sisters Ana and Elsa are indefinitely complicated, but Olaf makes it all better! After all, "Some people are worth melting for."
7. "A Walk to Remember," 2002
Bring out the tissues! This coming of age drama is sure to kick some tears out of you! Mandy and Shane stole my heart and have set relationship goals high for me!
8. "Forrest Gump," 1994
Run, Forrest! Run! This comedy is iconic and my favorite performance by Tom Hanks. If ever in the need to have a good night full of fun and laughter, this movie is great to pop into the DVD player and listen to the list of ways to cook shrimp and Mama's famous quotes. "Life is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're gonna get."
