Inspired by the whimsical and odd vibe that Halloween brings to the month of October, I started to think about Johnny Depp and his knack for playing any character. What better way to lead into Halloween, than look at all the different roles Johnny Depp has had to dress up for?

5. The Mad Hatter- "Alice in Wonderland"

Not one of my most favorite movies in which Depp stars, but for a guy that (for all intents and purposes) I can tell is sane, he plays an insane person very well. I love the quirky mannerisms he so easily employs in this role. I do love the costume they put together for him. It's very whimsical and sort of all over the place, just like the personality of the Mad Hatter.

4. Barnabas Collins- "Dark Shadows"

In this film, Depp stars as a vampire unleashed onto the 1970s town of Collinwood, Maine. After spending two centuries locked in the ground, Barnabas Collins is eager to see how his extended family is doing. He then takes on the role as informal guardian and banker of the Collins' clan. If you like a good dark comedy, then this movie would probably satisfy you. Really LOVED this movie, one that I always come back and watch when I want a more humorous movie with Depp in it.

3. Tonto- "The Lone Ranger"

This film didn't get the best marks among the older generations, but for an Old West action film I loved it. Depp drifts away from the quirky and funny role that we usually associate him with as Captain Jack Sparrow. In The Lone Ranger Depp makes his appearance as Tonto, a Native American warrior who is the last of his tribe. I'll guiltily admit that the only reason I saw this movie was because Johnny Depp was in it. Thankfully, neither him or the movie disappointed me in my expectations.

2. Captain Jack Sparrow- "Pirates of the Caribbean"

This is by far my most favorite Disney series. Through the series we follow a charismatic and quirky captain, hell-bent on doing whatever truly benefits him. I can't quite pin what I love about this series, but it could very well be the quirky behavior of Jack that does it for me. All in all, I love these movies and the ride at the Disney parks.

1. Sweeney Todd - "Sweeney Todd"

This movie is wonderful. I love it so much it begins to become hard to describe. I think the biggest thing I love about this film is how easily it flows as a musical. I would never have thought a dark murderous movie like this could work so well put to music. But man, oh man, it flows. I also love how elegantly Depp works with this role. As far as I know this is the first kind of musical he's ever performed in and he slayed it.

One of the reasons why I probably love Depp so much is his ability to take on any role and make it work so well. He makes it so believable that he is able to do roles/genres like this or that all the time. I know there are many other great films that Depp stars in but these are my top five personal favorites, so if you haven't seen any of these I highly recommend all of them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
