Top 4 Songs For A Confidence Boost
YG Enterainment - CL - Hello Music Video

Self-love is something many people preach but aren't always sure how to attain. Self-love is also very important and something everyone should achieve. I personally have been on my journey to self-love for four years. I have come a long way, but I haven't reached the end of my journey. The biggest thing to me is how I feel on a regular basis and my mood. The one thing that influences my mood and how I feel every day are the songs I listen to. So, I decided to share some of the songs that always make me feel empowered and motivated. The songs that put enough pep in my step so I feel like I'm on a runway wherever I walk.

1. "Hello B*tches" - CL

This is my go-to song if I want to make myself feel like a baddie. CL is the queen of kpop and my heart. Every time I listen to this song I feel my confidence blow through the roof. I'm not sure if it's the beat, the lyrics or the fact that CL herself exudes the confidence I wish to achieve, but whatever it may be this song never fails to make me feel like I personally rule the entire world.

2. "Feeling Myself" - Nicki Minaj feat. Beyonce

This is probably expected, but it's in the title. Every time I hear this song, I start feeling like a queen. Nicki talks about all the things she is capable of, and of course, flexes all the things she has. Alongside that, Beyonce reminds everyone that she runs the world. So when you start singing the lyrics you start to feel like you're Nicki and Beyonce. You really start feeling yourself, even if you're in your pj's.

3. "Bodak Yellow" - Cardi B

Most people have mixed feelings about Cardi, including myself. Despite that, I could bop to "Bodak Yellow" on a daily basis. Cardi spends the entire song letting everyone know that you can't push her off her high horse. She's going to feel like a baddie and no one can change that. Which is what we all want to feel at the end of the day right? We all want to feel confident and as if no one can take that away from us. And every time I listen to this song, I truly feel that. I also feel like my beat up Vans are red bottoms, so that's a plus.

4. "The Baddest Female" - CL

Another CL song, which gives off very similar vibes. However, CL flexes a bit more in this song with her "chain swingin' left, right." Again, CL exudes confidence and it always rubs off on me when I listen to her songs. And there's something about her saying "This is for all my bad girls around the world. Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good you know? Let's light it up and let it burn like we don't care. Let'em know how it feels damn good to be bad." that gives me chill bumps. It sounds funny, but it really makes me feel like I, too, am the baddest female, which does wonders for my confidence.

There are tons of other songs that make me feel like a queen, but these are my top four. However, since I want to spread the self-love, I have made a playlist on Spotify where you can find all the songs I listen to when I need a reminder that I am beautiful and fearless and no one can take that from me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
