The break college students most look forward to isn't during summer, winter, or Thanksgiving. Spring Break for students is an essential part of the college experience, and going to a tropical vacation with your friends is a must-do for at least one out of the four years in college (or maybe all four, no one's judging you). Whether you wish to spend your vacation in the United States or at a tropical resort, here are the top five Spring Break destinations for college students. And at least try to make good decisions while you're there.


5. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

In the last couple of years, the DR has risen in popularity to become one of the most popular spring break destinations for students. Punta Cana has white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, and is considered the ultimate "tropical playground". Along with unlimited parties, students can also zip line in tropical rain forests, explore the countryside, learn to surf on the coast, and party on a catamaran along with your friends and tons of other students.

4. South Padre Island, Texas

South Padre Island fully knows it's a unique destination; it boasts about spring break on its website for fully legitimate reasons. Located in Texas, activities include dolphin watching, water sports, or attending the Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark. The island also features amazing concerts for spring break students, this year's concerts featuring T-Pain, Kesha, Kid Ink and French Montana.

3. Miami, Florida

A longtime popular and legendary spring break destination, Miami offers amazing beaches, clubs, and bars all at an affordable, college-friendly rate. Another popular party idea in Miami are cruises (day or night) that are popular with students and keep the party going.

2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Spring Break for Cabo San Lucas lasts a full month and doesn't slow down at all. There are five well known hotels for college students, and plenty of amazing bars and clubs to party at. Other fun activities include bungee jumping, snorkeling, zip lining and ATV tours.

1. Nassau, Bahamas

The Bahamas have long reigned as the top party destination for spring breakers. Unique experiences include cruises and partying on your own private island. More importantly, open bars and free drinks are common with student-oriented party packages.
