The Top Five Places To Study On The USF Campus

Finals week can be an extremely busy week filled with stress, trying to find a quite place to focus on the duties at hand can be an added stress factor. Luckily if you think outside the box there are few great places that won’t be overcrowded. The places can actually be relaxing.

Castor Beach

While a lot of students use the hammocks at the mock beach to sleep, it’s actually a great place to study for exams. The scenic view, warm sand and comfy hammocks are a great way to focus on any exams and ease tensions build during finals week. Plus, it beats running through every floor in the library, trying to find a single place to sit.

The Marshall Student Center

The Marshall Student Center, to me, is a wonderful place with thousands of places to study. The location has a plethora of seats located on every level, making it easy to find a quite place to make your own. There is also a location right next door to the Skypad that contains computers, if needed for research or finishing any essays throughout the week. Food and drinks are located on the first floor, so you don’t even need to leave the building to eat. The MSC saves students time and helps with their studying needs.

The Fountains by MLK Plaza

Located in between the Marshall Student Center and the Honors College are a string of water fountains. This area contains several benches and usually consist of students reading, studying or typing away on their laptops. This is another excellent place to prepare for exams. The location is usually shaded by trees, which help to avoid the heat. This area is usually extremely quite and the sound of the fountains create a peaceful atmosphere needed during these last crazy weeks of the semester.

The Walkway by MLK Plaza

The walkway that welcomes students and faculty to the front of the Marshall Student Center and the bulls, which is also sandwiched between MSC and the Honors College, is a beautiful walkway lined with columns that are wrapped with vines. This shaded area is a great place to avoid heat yet still enjoy being outside while cramming for your next exam. The area is relaxing, quite, and contains several sitting areas that are never over populated. An A plus area to work on getting an A plus on any exam or assignment.

BSN

The Muma College of Business Building at one point was an underground shelter, so because it is located below the actual land itself, it is always cooler than any other place on campus. The building is also scattered with students studying, thus allowing the area to be quite. The first floor contains tables, benches, and even a deli. The building itself is allow lined with sitting area so, its never difficult to find an area to plop down and study.

The library – if necessary

If your study group meets in the library, but all the seats on the first and second floor are taken. Try searching the third, fourth and fifth floors. These areas are quiter and contain seating areas scattered on each level.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
