When you hear "Batman," you may think of Adam West, George Clooney or Christian Bale, but what about Pete Holmes? In his series called Badman, Pete Holmes plays an imbecile Batman that confuses easily. I'm about to walk you through the top five episodes (in my humble opinion) and hopefully get you into Badman as much as I am.
5. Batman's Huge Mistake, AKA Batman's Interrogation
This episode follows our hero Batman as he interrogates the Joker to get information about another villain, Harvey Dent. Unfortunate for the birthday clown he interrogates instead, but fortunate for our comedic viewing, Pete Holmes' iteration of Batman follows the Dark Knight's fight choreography in a hilarious parody of the intense movie scene.
4. Batman Vs. Superman
This episode showcases Batman's lack of powers in opposition to Superman's literal infinite power while also juxtaposing Batman's coolness versus Superman's "white bread" image.
Matt McCarthy plays Commissioner Gordon, adding to the roast of Superman and setting up Batman to admit his overt drawback, saying verbatim, "I'm confused easily."
3. Batman Chooses His Voice
Batman Chooses His Voice showcases Pete Holmes' skill at impressions as Batman tries out different voices. This episode is rife with meta-humor and sets up a fantastic final scene.
2. Batman Disturbs the Penguin, AKA Batman Vs The Penguin (feat. Patton Oswalt)
Patton Oswalt plays a hilarious parody of the Penguin in this episode where Commissioner Gordon and the Penguin realize Batman has no concept of death. This episode bounces back and forth, greatly, between the Penguin and Batman. In addition, it has a fantastic premise, making it one of the funniest episodes in the series.
1. Batman Vs. The Scarecrow
This episode is downright side-splitting. The facial expressions Pete Holmes use in addition to the absolute randomness in his fears create great joke after great joke, even incorporating a Christopher MacDonald cameo. If you only watch one episode of Badman ever, make it this one.
*Bonus: The Outtakes
Now that you're familiar with the Badman, the outtakes are hilarious. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
