Top Billboard Song Covers Sung By Everyone's Favorite Artists

Singing a cover of any song could be a great challenge for any musical artist, whether they be famous or not. Switching up the tempo of the song, as well as a few changed lyrics and beats can help an artist transform a song into an entirely new piece. Doing this with famous celebrities and songs that have reached the top of the billboard, however, is a very, very different story. Check out these top picks of celeb music artists covering chart-topping hits!

One Direction singing Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney's "FourFiveSeconds"

Introducing their signature boy band sound onto this song was a very cool thing to hear, on a very popular song originally featuring Rihanna and Kanye.

Birdy singing Kygo's "Firestone"

This quaint but strong voice really conquers this cover of this electronic dance song.

Taylor Swift singing Vance Joy's "Riptide"

In this cover, Taylor brings her magical voice to the track, keeping much of the song very similar to Vance's original.

Bastille singing Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop"

With their indie pop vibe on a pop hit, this version does seem a little odd but is still cool to listen to a song we all know the lyrics too, sung in a different genre!

Ed Sheeran singing Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty"

Known by many as the king of covers, is there any song that Ed Sheeran can't make a stunning cover of? A kind-of acoustic version + a little rap break = check it out!

Miley Cyrus singing Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness"

Miley Cyrus has putting out great covers of many songs for years now, with her top performance most likely being Jolene. Her version of Summertime Sadness is no different, with her amazing vocals and soothing sound.

Usher singing Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks"

This song is such a crazy switch up fro Usher's usual R&B genre, as he adapts the more rock genre of the original song.

The 1975 singing One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful"

This song is nothing different than The 1975's alternative rock genre: they transform this song into basically a whole new song that happens to have the same lyrics.

Little Mix singing Whitney Houston's "Dance With Somebody" and Natalie La Rose's "Somebody"

Harmonizing non-stop on this song mash-up, these girls show off their serious talent while giving us an incredible combination of these two songs.

Sam Smith singing Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car"

I have to be honest, I am a little biased with Sam Smith's angelic voice, believing anything he sings is absolutely heavenly. Nevertheless, he slowsthis song down even more in his interpretation, seemingly to make this song even more of a lyrical masterpiece.

Disclosure with Sam Smith singing Drake's "Hotline Bling"

This cover is definitely one for the record books. With Disclosure's electronic beats behind Sam Smith's interpretation of this hip-hop single, you may wonder if this version is actually better than the original...(Sorry Drake!)

Demi Lovato singing Hozier's "Take Me To Church"

You have to listen to this rendition. Here, do it now. Her vocals and little switch up on this song shows of her unbelievable musical talent. Hozier should be more than proud over this cover.

Lorde singing Jeremih's "Don't Tell 'Em"

Lorde's interpretation of this popular rap song is absolutely shocking. Just imagine, Lorde slows down this popular club banger and makes it almost eerie and mysterious. Listen to this cover!!

Let's be real: if a talented artist covers another one's very popular song, who wouldn't want to listen?

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
