If you were lucky enough to get tickets to Lollapalooza this year, you should be jumping for joy. In honor of Lollapalooza's 25th anniversary, Lolla will be four days long instead of the usual three. Each day is filled with a variety of amazing artists so that there'll be something for everyone to get hyped about. If you aren't sure about who to see on Thursday, here are five great artists and their top songs. These might become your next favorite artists!
Melanie Martinez
Melanie was a contestant on the third season of "The Voice." Her debut alternative pop album "Cry Baby" was highly anticipated and received great reviews. Her songs are extremely catchy but have darker, more serious meanings behind the pop sound. Check out her song "Dollhouse" about the illusion of perfection.
The Last Shadow Puppets
If you like the Arctic Monkeys, you're almost guaranteed to like the Last Shadow Puppets. Lead vocalist and guitarist Alex Turner joins other rockers to form this sexy, retro band. They have an electric presence onstage that will definitely prove to be a great time. Check out their song "Bad Habits," full of roaring vocals and arrogance.
Danny Brown
This rapper was recently described by MTV as "one of rap's most unique figures in recent history." He's known for his wild hair, wild outfits, wild dance moves, and wild lyrics. His animated spirit is sure to transfer to his stage presence and be an exhilarating performance. Check out his "Look at me now" anthem "Grown Up."
The 1975
The 1975 have fully embraced the dark side of pure pop. They've been reviewed as the "X-rated cousin of Taylor Swift's '1989.'" They have a fun '80s vibe that's slick and romantic and sure to make you want to jump around and dance at Lolla. Check out the clever, dark humor in their song "UGH!"
Bas
Buddies with fellow rappers J. Cole, Cozz, and Omen, Bas has started to gain more recognition for his passionate lyrics on drug abuse, death, and racial issues in America. His reflective style and deep raps are bound to relate and connect with his audience. Check out his hit with J. Cole, "Night Job."
Whoever you decide to see, Lollapalooza on Thursday is sure to be incredible.
