Whether you live in the same town as your family or far away, your family are the ones who will be there no matter what. Through the good times and the bad, they've been there, and will continue to be for the rest of your life. Sometimes, they may seem like a lot, but they mean well. Family is the most important thing in life, and we should hold on to their love forever. These are the top six reasons that family is the best thing in our lives.

1. They make you laugh

There’s nothing like a family to put a smile on your face. Whether it’s a well-delivered joke or an embarrassing moment, family time is never dull. Sometimes they may seem like the corniest people in the world, but it’s the cheesy knock knocks and sayings that you’ll remember most in the years to come. These are the people that know you better than anyone else and they know the exact way to give you a belly laugh when you need it the most.

2. They know all your stories…good and bad

A family has the memory of an elephant. It’s hard for them to forget the time you wore your shirt inside out to school all day, or the embarrassing outfits your parents dressed you in for the first few years of your life. It also doesn’t help that they’ll bring up these stories at every single function you go to together, to the point where your friends will come over just to hear your grandparents share their memories of you with them.

3. They are your sounding board

Family is unapologetically honest no matter what. They will tell you when you do something amazing, but they won’t hesitate to tell you you’re an idiot as well. It’s never to hurt you though, because they say everything with love. It’s just nice to know that no matter what the situation may be, you can always count on your family to give you an answer to a question or help you solve a problem. When your conscience is misguided, they’ll be there to straighten it out.

4. There’s a plethora of them

I can pretty much guarantee that whether your parents are only children or one of 10, you have family scattered in places you didn’t even know about. Family is sneaky in ways where you won't see great aunts and uncles for some time, but they’ll pop out of the woodwork if you really need them. You’ll probably also find by the time you hit the "marriage age," you’ll be invited to weddings of cousins you’ve never even seen before, but nonetheless, as long as it’s family, it’ll be a great time.

5. They’re never going anywhere

Sometimes, family can be a lot. There will be times where you’re ready to kill those who are closest to you, or pack a bag and escape everyone. But these people are the ones who love you the most, so even if you try to leave, they’ll be there, ready to catch you if you fall. Blood is thicker than water, and a family sticks together through good times and bad.

6. They love you unconditionally

No one in this world will ever love you like your family. They’ve seen you at your best, worst, and everything in between. No matter what you do or where you go, you can always count on the members of your family to love you all the same.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
