Traveling has become an aesthetic. The world is filled with people, both young and old, who yearn to wander to distant places for various reasons: to escape their difficult lives, to follow their passions, to do research, to dive into an experience of an exotic culture.
It might have something to do with the constant push for college students to study abroad, but I find myself dreaming of traveling to a number of places, in hopes of finding a new piece of myself along the journey.
While the possibilities are endless and overwhelming, my top six dream travel destinations are as follows:
1. The Netherlands: Amsterdam
2. New Zealand
3. Scotland
4. Greece: Santorini
5. France: Paris
6. Spain: Barcelona
While I will probably never travel to all six of these places, I find the mere thought of the possibility to be soothing. It is comforting to know that these places exist, and that there are people going about their day, occupying the places I long to visit.
After all, a girl can dream; can't she?
