Top 5 Things I Did During My Week Without Technology

Over the past week, the weather has taken a turn and it's finally lovely outside. So now, I'm taking advantage of it as much as I can. Along with the nice weather, I've also taken a much needed break from technology. It's truly amazing to find out what's out there when you just look up every once in a while.

1. Read A Book

This one seems so obvious, yet whenever I had spare time before, I always turned right to Netflix. After an evening of sitting around watching T.V. I feel lazy and unproductive, but after reading all evening I feel re-energized.

2. Sitting Outside

Where I live, I have a balcony that faces the woods, I see a lot of deer, and best of all, the sun! But then again, anywhere outside is great! I spent my time on the balcony doing everything from homework, to reading, to making friendship bracelets, to just sitting around and enjoying the nature.

3. Take A Drive

There's something so invigorating about the first time each year you get to drive down some long back road. Especially with all the windows down and the music just a little too loud. Just a drive though, no places to be and no rushing, just driving.

4. Take A Hike

Cliche, I know. But what better way to enjoy a sunny day after a cold and rainy week than some time outside -- with a view! Now calling what I did a hike is a stretch, but none the less... there was sure a view!

5. Cook!

I find that I am often so attached to my phone and computer, that when it's time for dinner I make something easy and definitely not healthy. While being away from my phone, I've cooked just a few more full meals from recipes!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
