Allotting enough money to buy groceries each week in college can be difficult, let alone allotting enough money to potentially go on spring break. No one wants to sit at home in the cold over spring break, but if you don’t have any money to dedicate to a possible trip, sometimes that is the only option.
But hey, who says you can’t have fun at home?! Sometimes being at home can be super fun, not to mention very productive. It all depends on how you look at it. Here are five simple ways to maximize your staycation, not to mention going on spring break only sucks if you make it suck.
5) Craft
Yeah, this sounds dumb at first, but it’s not. You’ve probably taken some great pictures over the past semester, why not get some new cute frames, or better yet, make some new frames and re-situate your entire desk/bedroom situation? New spring break, new you, am I right? And if you’re extra bored you can craft super hard and prepare way in advance for house tours! PNM’s notice how Pinteresty your room is, so this would be such a productive move.
4) Tan
This can be a hit or miss. Fake tanning causes skin cancer, so maybe nah. However, every once in a blue moon, the middle of March gets nice for a hot second in Minnesota. So if this happens, you should definitely take advantage of this opportunity and spend some time out in Floco courtyard or on your balcony to tan. Or, if you decide to go home for spring break, posting up in your yard to catch some rays is also a valid option.
3) Get #Fit
If you didn’t get fit in time for spring break, then this time at home is the perfect time to work on your fitness! You want rock hard abs? This is it. You want excellent legs? Yes, you go. Find a friend who also isn’t going on spring break and you can be fit together. So flirty!
2) Pamper yourself
Everyone who actually went somewhere for spring break is going to come back looking fantastic and bronzed. But hey, that doesn’t mean you can’t come back from doing nothing looking excellent as well. Give yourself an at-home facial or treat yourself to an at-home mani/pedi. Pluck your eyebrows for a super long time. Honestly, who needs Mexico in order to look good? Not you.
1) Organize your life
Seriously, during the actual semester, does anyone actually have time to organize their life? The answer to that last question is no; therefore, while you’re sitting at home primping and getting #fit, this is the perfect time to plan the rest of your semester. This will ensure that you make excellent grades during your second half of the year while also looking fantastic. If this means getting a new flirty planner to organize yourself or getting a fun calendar so you can keep track of everything, then do it. You should come back from your staycation feeling refreshed and ready to tackle your classes and the rest of your semester.
