The year is already half over, and for seniors that means only about four months until graduation. While the prospect of starting a new chapter of our lives is exciting, it is also insanely stressful! Here are five of what I think are the top stresses of college seniors.
1. Am I going to graduate?
Waiting to take your major requirements until your last term at college and realizing some classes conflict with others, or the one class you need is with your least favorite professor.
2. Get a job?
The occupation of hobo is becoming more of a possible reality. As if keeping up with our work isn’t enough, we also need to find a job, which adds a whole new level of stress to our lives.
3. Not knowing anyone anymore.
Especially on a campus as small as Union’s, we feel like outsiders when we’re on campus. Going out is a strange experience of looking around a crowded room and not recognizing a single person.
4. Thesis?
What even is a thesis? The day I hand my thesis in, if the day ever comes, I may burst into tears.
5. Wanting to see friends, but being anti-social AF.
Before graduation, we all want to spend time with our friends, but winter term has been rough; it’s cold and we don’t all live in the same building anymore. The sad reality is that we’ve all become anti-social, lazy humans who never leave our houses unless we absolutely have to (i.e. getting fro-yo).
