I've always considered Nebraska to be the crossover state. Artists tend to "crossover" the Big O to get from one state to another. But luckily, we have been getting a nice Chex Mix of performers in the past few years. From the range of March to April 2016, I found my top five concerts to go to in the Metro area.

1. The Incredible True Story Tour with Logic and special guest Dizzy Wright.

The Maryland native's second album was released on November 13th last year, and sold 148,000 U.S. copies. This will be his third trip to Omaha, but his first time at the Sokol Auditorium. The show is on Tuesday March 1st at 8 pm, but unfortunately the show is sold out (this is also his second sold out show in Omaha). You can still catch tickets on Stubhub.com running from $71.57 to $86.95. (Hint: the closer to the date of the show, the lower the prices will drop.)

2. The Commission presents Scarface

Former Geto Boys member, the legendary Scarface, is coming to Lincoln at the Bourbon Theater on Friday March 4th at 8:30 pm. Doors open at 8:00 pm. He will be performing with Cartel TZ, Big Dawg, Bobby Hatfield, and DJ D-Luv. This is an 18 and up show and tickets run for $25 advance, $30 day of the show, $40 for balcony VIP (which is 21 and up), and the meet and greet for $60. Balcony VIP includes balcony seating, appetizers, VIP entry line, VIP lanyard and tour mixtape. The meet and greet package includes: Pre-show meet and greet with Scarface, champagne, tour poster, and tour mixtape.

3. 3001: The Tour with Flatbush ZOMBiES

Brooklyn's finest is making a comeback for the second time at the Slowdown Saturday April 9th at 9 pm. Also inviting special guests, A$AP 12vy and Remy Banks. Going on tour for their first studio debut (3001: A Laced Odyssey) which will be released on March 11th, so there will be enough time to get familiar with their discography. Advance tickets are $23 and VIP is $100. The VIP includes: one general admission ticket, meet & greet with Flatbush ZOMBiES, photograph with Flatbush ZOMBiES, exclusive Flatbush ZOMBiES merchandise pack, and commemorative VIP tour laminate. You have been warned, their shows get crazy, like Odd Future on acid crazy.

4. Dilla Fam's the King's Court Tour with Slum Village

Legendary group Slum Village and friends: Black Milk, Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson, Blaq RoyalT, and Conchance will be coming to the Slowdown on Sunday April 10th at 8 pm. Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of JDilla's death. Tickets are only $15 and rumor has it that JDilla's brother, Illa J, who is following in similar footsteps as his brother will be blessing the stage in his honor.

5. Shadow of a Doubt Tour with Freddie Gibbs

Going on tour for the album (same title), which came out in November 20th last year. Returning back to Nebraska for the second time, the first time was in Omaha at the Slowdown, he will be performing at the Bourbon Theater Wednesday April 13th at 8 pm, door open at 7 pm. This is an all ages show and the tickets run for $20 advance and $23 day of the show. Enjoy the University of Nebraska-Lincoln college scene after the show.

Get out of this funky winter weather, and celebrate the beginning of spring with the top 5 concerts to go in the Metro area.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
