The Top 5 Spring Break Destinations For College Students

In honor of Spring Break this week, I'm listing my top 5 Spring Break locations for college students that are looking to get away, have some fun, or, like me, get out of the cold!

1. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo has been a popular spring break destination for years and will most likely continue to be a great spot for the foreseeable future. Cabo has beautiful beaches, warm weather, and plenty of amenities such as golf, restaurants, and bars.

2. Tampa, Florida

Tampa is a somewhat overlooked spring break destination but is actually quite popular. Tampa has plenty to offer including miles of beaches, golf courses, and one of America's best amusement parks, Busch Gardens. Tampa is also great for people that are not looking to spend a lot of money and is one of the cheapest spring break destinations.

3. South Padre Island, Texas

Similar to Tampa, South Padre is quite affordable for everyone. I am actually going here for spring break this year and was happy I didn't have to break the bank to do it. South Padre also hosts large concert events throughout the week with a number of artists. Warm temperatures and plenty of water activities such as kite boarding and sailing are also what make South Padre a great destination.

4. New Orleans, Louisiana

In the theme of picking different states for each destination, New Orleans is another great spot. New Orleans offers great nightlife and food as well as beautiful buildings and scenery. Only possible downside is not being located right on a beach but from the Gulf of Mexico is not far away! A bit on the pricier end as far as spring break goes but should be well worth your money.

5. Los Angeles, California

For those on the west coast, or people on the east coast really looking to get away, L.A. is an obvious choice. L.A. offers warm temperatures year-round and the ocean is only about 15 miles away. With several large colleges in the area and beautiful scenery, L.A. typically gets a pretty large spring break crows.

Honorable Mentions

Panama City Beach, Florida

PCB, like Cabo and South Padre, has been a popular spring break spot for many years. PCB offers many high quality restaurants and bars, concert performances, and an amusement park. Definitely a good choice for anyone.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

For those looking for a more relaxing spring break, Myrtle Beach is a great choice. Myrtle Beach does offer great nightlife as well as parties and concerts on the beach but is more subtle than other places and doesn't attract as large of a crowd.

I hope everyone going on a spring break trip stays safe, keeps warm, and, above all else, enjoys themselves! Thank You.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
