If you have ever seen an episode of Gilmore Girls I'm guessing you fell deeply and madly in love with the show. If not, you're crazy. The witty, fast talking, perfectly insane mother daughter duo captured the hearts of millions for years until the series devastatingly ended in 2007. But fear not, 2016's one true love, Netflix, has done it again, and is bringing us back to Stars Hollow in November. My heart is full of joy and my obsession has been sparked yet again. I couldn't possibly list everything I love about the show, or why I wish I was one of the Gilmore's but here's just a few.
1. Stars Hollow
Probably the cutest television town in history, I mean they have a gazebo. Everyone knows everyone, local businesses are a way of life, and it's all just so darn charming I can't stand it.
2. Dean
The love of Rory's life (and mine). His hair, smile, and utter confusion (yet generous acceptance) of the Gilmore's mother daughter dynamic makes him one of my favorite characters of all time. #TeamDean
3. Luke's
His coffee is deemed best in the town by the Gilmore's- and that's good enough for me. His burgers actually look good enough to eat. Plus, Luke's personality is hilarious without him trying and he and Lorelai are a match made in heaven.
4. Lorelai and Rory's relationship
My dream come true would be to have a slumber party at the Gilmore's. The food, the movies, and just getting to feel like an honorary Gilmore for a night would make my life. Their bond is like no other and it takes the mother/daughter dynamic to a whole 'nother level-best friends.
5. Coffee
A never ending supply, at any point in the day. Embrace its' presence as a staple in your life.
6. Friendship
We know that nothing beats what Lorelai and Rory have, but even separately, their friendships stand out as having made a great impact in their lives. Lane and Sookie, famous best friends of the lead ladies, teach us almost as much as the Gilmores. Without them, life wouldn't be the same.
7. The inside jokes
99% of the best lines are quotes from movies or pop culture fun facts only the Gilmores would care to know, but that's what makes them so interesting.
8. The food
No Gilmore movie night is set without a copious amount of junk food. Let us not forget the dessert sushi. Pizza, chinese, candy (of every variety)-you name it, it'll be there.
9. The romantic stuff
The boys of Gilmore world sure know the way to a girl's heart. Trips to Paris, homemade ice skating rinks, hand crafted jewelry, excitingly dangerous jumps off of tall things-it's just so ahhhhhh.
10. The wardrobe
Shared closets plus Lorelai's ability to turn anything into something wearable sounds just magical.
11. The Gilmore spirit
Harvard-check. Owning an inn-check. Fans watched dreams from the pilot episode turn into realities-the real life way, with ups and downs, wins and failures, we walked with them through it all. Their resilience and determination inspire so many.
