I started watching Gilmore Girls on a whim, mainly because I had nothing else to watch. Although it bored me at first, it quickly became my go-to. There are so many reasons why the show stole my heart, and it would be impossible to name all of them, but here are a few that make Gilmore Girls is the greatest of all time.
1. The mother/daughter bond between Lorelei and Rory
More like best friends, this mother daughter combo is a force to be reckoned with. They're always there for each other, and they understand each other like no one else. Nothing and no one has ever, can ever, or will ever come between Lorelei and Rory.
2. Coffee
You can't watch Gilmore Girls for more than 5 minutes without craving caffeine. Lorelei and Rory's obsession with coffee has driven me to be a coffee-holic myself. So, I've found that enjoying a nice cup-a-joe while binge watching Gilmore Girls makes for a pretty great (and fitting) past time.
3. Friday night dinners
I've had my fair share of differences with Richard and Emily Gilmore, but I always love when Friday night dinners roll around. There's always something going on at Lorelei's parents' house, and the schemes they cook up are hilarious. Richard and Emily may be annoying, but the dynamic that they bring to the show is essential.
4. Rory's friendship with Paris
Possibly one of the strangest people in the world, Paris Geller always offers a sense of comic relief. When she turned out to be Rory's roommate at Yale, I felt relieved. She has been a constant throughout the show and has really grown on me.
5. The town of Stars Hollow
When I started watching the show, I have to admit that I wanted to move to Stars Hollow. I even looked it up on Google (and found out it's a fake town.) The town is quaint and beautiful, and the people that live there are like family.
6. Luke Danes
Is it just me, or is Luke Danes the perfect man? He is quite the handy-man, not to mention he would make you breakfast in bed better than anyone. He has been a father to Rory all of her life, and his commitment to Lorelei over the years makes every girl swoon. I love me some Luke Danes.
7. Rory's love interests
Let's face it, the girl has good taste. My favorite was Dean. No maybe Jess... Okay no, definitely Logan. All I know is that Rory's love life keeps the show interesting. They are all just so sweet. And cute. GAH.
8. Everything and everyone
Ok, so... maybe this was just a Gilmore Girls appreciation article. Regardless, everything and everyone in the show makes it the greatest of all time. It's impossible to narrow it down to just eight things, so just take me at my word. If you don't watch it, what are you waiting for?! Fall in love with it like I have. You won't regret it.
