Top 5 Places To Take Your Furry Friend In SCV!

Don't lie. You're a little dog-crazy. It's OK, I don't blame you. Frankly, if you're not a little dog-crazy, I'm judging you. Unfortunately, no matter how much we want to, we can't take our fur babies everywhere. But look on the bright side, the dog-friendly community is growing here in Santa Clarita, and it's getting easier to take your pooch out for a fun day! Here are five dog-friendly places to take your best friend in SCV.

1. Lazy Dog

Lazy Dog is by far one of the best places in Santa Clarita for dog lovers. They have an awesome patio with fire pits, so you can have the cutest dinner date with your pup! They also have a dog menu; does it even get any cuter? Click the picture above to visit their website and find out more! Lazy Dog Valencia is located at The Valencia Town Center Mall.

2. Starbucks

Take a walk over to your local Starbucks and enjoy a cup of coffee on the patio with your adorable pooch. If it's too hot for a walk, because let's be real, summer in SCV is no joke, then take a joy ride to a drive-thru location! Be sure to ask for a pup cup!

3. Lowe's

One of my favorite things to do with my fur baby on a really hot summer day is take a little trip to Lowe's. They always run the A/C on high, which is just a summer bonus for both of you! The staff loves to say high to furry friends and the dogs love to sniff around in the lumber yard. They also allow birds if you happen to be a bird lover.

4. Petco

OK, I know this one may seem like an obvious one, but people forget that you can walk your dog around Petco for exercise on a really hot day. They even have a little waste clean-up stations just in case! Plus, it never hurts to pick up a new toy for later!

5. Wolf Creek

While Wolf Creek may not be specifically created for you to dine with your pooch like Lazy Dog, their patio is still dog friendly! It's even covered and shaded for those too hot summer days. Grab a cold beer with your best fur friend and maybe even sneak him a few bites of your lunch!

These are just a few of my favorite places to take my dog -- there are so many more, though! If you have any places that weren't mentioned on this list, be sure to leave it in the comments!

P.S. Now that you know all the best places to take your favorite furry friend, there are no excuse for leaving them in a hot car. Don't be that person.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
