Top 5 Party Jams Of 2015

Maybe this is an excuse to listen to some fun party jams, but I just wanted to craft a list of the top five must-play party songs of 2015. Just in case anyone’s having a hard time crafting a party playlist, here’s a list of songs to get you started. The perfect party playlist for your future parties (or even just those parties of one).

1. "Trap Queen" – Fetty Wap

I can already hear you guys sighing, but this is arguably the jam of the summer that will get everyone grooving and singing along. But in all honestly, play any Fetty Wap song; he’ll be sure to get the party started with his catchy tunes and weirdly addictive vocals.

2. "Can’t Feel My Face" – The Weeknd

This Weeknd song is great; it’s catchy and suggestive, just like the singer himself. The Weeknd has been gaining popularity and the recognition he deserves this year, especially with his new album out (please listen to it). With this famous chart-topping tune (also his other chart topper, "The Hills," is equally catchy although perhaps less dancey), it has everyone jamming and screaming the words, especially to the chorus.

3. "Hotline Bling" – Drake

Listen to it on Spotify.*

Drake can do no wrong and he knows when to make a feel good hit. And this is most definitely a feel-good hit with such a great beat, you’ll find yourself grooving like Drake himself did in the music video. All the memes inspired by the music video are all gold; bless Drake for giving us that music video. Lastly, like the other songs you’d def be singing along and feeling those Drake feels.

*The music video isn't on YouTube, but it's on Apple Music if you want to watch it. And there aren't any good audio tracks of the song on YouTube either!

4. "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" – Silentó

I couldn’t not add a jam that has its own actual dance. This newest dance craze basically has everyone usually whipping (LOL) it out at dance parties. It’s a very fun jam that will guarantee dancing since there is already a set choreographed dance to it.

5. "Bitch Better Have My Money" – Rihanna

(Disclaimer: This music video is explicit, e.g., nudity, blood)

I felt like this list was too male dominated and that had to change. Rihanna is seriously awesome and knows how to produce and be a part of a rocking track. So with her “Bitch Better Have My Money” track, you already knew it would be a hit. Its harsh and revengeful undertones makes for a great sing-along and an equally great dance song. Before you know it, you're going to be left feeling like someone did you wrong and owes you money.

Alas, this miniature list has come to an end and now you guys have five songs to party to (if you haven't partied to these songs already). Also, these songs can be used as a basis for other party songs; try starting radios on Spotify. I know there are a lot more party songs, but these are some of my favorites, and I hope you enjoyed them!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
