I watch way too much Netflix. I know I know it’s not the best habit but honestly it’s my favorite way to unwind and relax. That being said, I have gone through a lot of shows because I’m a binge watcher, and I can’t help myself. But this means I can help you decide what to watch next based on my extensive research, so here are my top Netflix picks.
1. "One Tree Hill"

Ok, if you are in the mood for a commitment series, this is the one for you. The show is essentially about a group of high schoolers figuring out life and playing basketball, but the show has some epic plot twists and surprising action for as bland as the show may seem from the first episode. If you are looking for great love stories, huge family drama, mind-blowing action scenes and plot twists, all wrapped up in a nice package, this is definitely the show for you.
2. "Jane The Virgin"
If dramatic high schoolers growing up isn’t your thing, "Jane The Virgin" may be what you are looking for. It’s pretty funny. Not HAHA funny or ROTFL funny, but a clever funny. It is a show about a woman getting artificially inseminated and learning how to deal with the crazy situation. Similarly to "One Tree Hill," this show has awesome plot twists and interesting side-plots that make the show so addicting seeing as almost every episode leaves you on a cliff-hanger. The only bummer about this show is that there are only two seasons on Netflix currently, but they are a good two seasons to watch.
3. "Parks & Recreation"
If you are the type of person who prefers the shorter 25-minute episode kind of Netflix shows, this is the one for you. This is my all-time favorite show because it is so funny. Literally every episode made me laugh. It comes from the same producers as "The Office," so if you are a Michael Scott fan you are bound to love Leslie Knope and her adventures as a government employee. Amy Poehler is a comedy genius, and the team of actors around her are just as funny. With six season of pure comedy gold, sit back, relax and get ready to LOL.
4. "Scandal"
If none of the shows mentioned so far sound appealing, this may be the one for you. "Scandal" is a pure political drama jam-packed with well, scandals. Each episode keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to see what Olivia Pope and her team do next. The cool thing about this show is that every episode has a different story but when you piece all the episodes together there is one underlying story being told. Grab a glass of wine and some popcorn as you try and figure out who is truly guilty before the stars of the show if you can.
5. "Glee"
My last recommendation is another one of my favorites. Many people know about "Glee," but if you don’t it is a show about high school students who join a glee club and sing their way through life. Each episode has about four to five hit songs that will have you dancing and singing along before you know it. Besides the awesome music the story line is just a great tale of different kids coming together to take on high school one day at a time. If you’re looking for a light-hearted feel-good show, this is the one for you.
I hope at least one of those shows sounded good to you so now you can start that beloved Netflix binge. Grab some friends (or don’t), snuggle up in a comfy spot and settle in for a long night of Netflix.
