Top 5 Actresses That Are Kicking Hollywood's Butt

In honor of the gorgeous and talented Jennifer Aniston's Huffington Post article "For the Record," I thought I would mention the top five actresses that, to me, are giving Hollywood and it's stereotypical mold of how they portray actresses' a run for their money. These are also some of my favorite actresses because of their risk-taking abilities and degrees in bad-assery.

So, without further ado, here are my top five actresses that are changing the game of how we see women in Hollywood.

1. Lisa Bonet

She is my top favorite actress of all time. Her sense of style goes against the normal type of Hollywood clothing. She has always been the one to dress how she wanted to dress, even if the clothing was outdated as well. She has always been one to take risks, whether with the roles she accepts or the lifestyle she lives. Not to mention her husband, Jason Mamoa, is drop dead gorgeous! So kudos to you Mrs. Bonet!

2. Melissa McCarthy

Let's face it, Melissa McCarthy is a talented and hilarious actress. Her new movie "Ghostbusters" is an example of where her true talent just shines as bright as the sun. Not only is she a remarkable actress, but she is incredibly gorgeous actress. Even though she never fit the skinny type of actresses in Hollywood, she never let that stop her from reaching her goals and being a role model to women of all sizes everywhere. Even before her recent weight loss, I've always believed that she was just as bright as her talent! My hat's off to you Mrs. McCarthy!

3. Jennifer Aniston

As mentioned earlier, you all should really read her article to the Huffington Post entitled "For the Record." This post in itself is why she is one of my all time favorite actress. Her post is a jab to the critics who always have something to say about her weight as well as a jab to the body-shamers everywhere. She implies that its time for people to stop judging a person by whether they are pregnant or not. That, how she has stayed true to her self and how she still remains stunning to this day is why she deserves my recognition. You go girl!

4. Tina Fey

Oh, Ms. Fey! She is the main influence for my decision to pursue screen writing. Her sense of humor as well as her motivation to test the limits is everything! If you ever get the chance to read her book "Bossypants," I say DO IT! Not only does she talk about her trials of being one of the few female writers at NBC, she also talks about some of her greatest moments in life. Honestly guys, after reading this, you will gain a whole new level of respect for her as I did.

5. Brie Larson

I will admit, I had never heard of Brie Larson until I watched Saturday Night Live, where she was a guest host. I then realized that she played the main character Joy in the movie adaptation of "Room" by Emma Donahue. I would highly recommend that you watch this film. She won an Emmy for it and honestly, she deserved it. Not only does she get my applause for being talented and gorgeous, she also highlights and does a lot of work raising awareness for equality and political as well as social justice in the community. If you don't believe me, go on her Instagram. Keep doing your thing Ms. Larson! You rock!

So there you have it. I hope you agree with my decisions and comment below who you think is kicking butt in Hollywood.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
