I know it may seem like every new book coming out is a dime a dozen, but after personally going through hundreds of books I think I have found 12 that stand out from the rest of the pack. Definitely recommend giving these a try to get you in the mood to tackle Valentine's Day; whether or not you are in a relationship does not matter, these books will fill you with a sense of hope, skepticism, or maybe help you develop a new list of books you're going to rip off the shelves at Barnes and Nobles, Either way, enjoy!
1. Everything, Everything: Nicola Yoon
Looking for the new Fault In Our Stars? This novel is that and more. Filled to the brim with adorable romantic moments, a fresh and unique love story, and not to mention that there is also a catastrophic and unexpected twist at the end. Definitely a book to put on your wish list.
2. FanGirl: Rainbow Rowell
Everything about this book is unique and creative. Our adorably nerdy protagonist is simply trying to tackle life without her twin sister as a freshman in college. Anyone else relate to this? But here's the catch: she writes fan fiction...even if you do not know what that is this is a cute and unusual love story that is chock full of emergency dance parties and more.
3. Siren: Kiera Cass
Can you imagine being alive for a hundred years in servitude to the sea? Well, that is exactly what Khalen must do, but what can she do when she meets the boy of her dreams? An incredibly interesting take on a myth that has been around for decades, as well as including an interesting personification of the ocean. READ IT!
4. A Thousand Pieces Of You: Claudia Gray
Ever think about whether or not there might be an alternate dimension? Or an alternate you? What if you had a device that allowed you to travel to these dimensions? Now imagine someone killed your father and jumped dimensions and you're on the hunt for him. Pretty crazy, right?
5. To All The Boys I've Loved Before: Jenny Han
This is such a realistic take on the average love story. Imagine that after all of the crushes you've ever had in your life that you write them a letter saying goodbye? Now imagine those letters actually being sent out? That's what happens in Jenny Han's beautiful new novel. I know it seems a little cliche, but it is SO GOOD!
6. Black Ice: Becca Fitzpatrick
This new book by the author of the Hush, Hush series is both mysterious and deadly in its nature. Backpacking in the Teton mountains, a kidnapping, murder, and betrayal, this book is a definite page turner and will not let you set it down for anything. It is your worst nightmare, as well as an unexpected love story.
7. Shatter Me: Tahereh Mafi
What would you do if every single person you touched died? Then try to think of how you would react if consequently you were imprisoned because of this? Juliette knows.
8. Wandering Wild: Jessica Taylor
What if you and your fifteen year old brother had incredible con artist powers? This is an unusual novel filled to the brim with things you'd never be able to explain or imagine. Good read.
9. Love and Gelato: Jenna Evans Welch
Italian summers spent road tripping around and discovering your recently deceased mothers shift past, interest anybody? Throw in finding and meeting an absentee father and you've got this book in a nutshell.
10. All The Bright Places: Jennifer Niven
A love story about two broken souls finding one another on the ledge of a bell tower. Can they rescue each other?
11. Me Before You: Jojo Moyes
This book may be better than The Fault In Our Stars. Girl meets boy, boy had motorcycle accident, girl takes care of boy, they fall in love. <3 <3 <3
12. Since You've Been Gone: Morgan Matson
This will make you want to grab your best friend and never let them go. A heart warming coming of age story about a shy girl following a list of outrageous tasks her best friend has set for her. Tell secrets in the dark, Hug a Jamie, Steal something, Kiss a stranger...Could you do them?
