1. Huge, slouchy sweaters
Nothing is more comfortable that a huge sweater or cardigan. Whether you're in a big t-shirt and leggings headed to class or a cute, casual outfit going out to dinner, throw it on and go.
2. Booties
Second only to running shoes, these are one of the most worn pairs of shoes in any girl's closet. With either cuffed jeans or a cute skirt, booties are perfect for any occasion.
3. Chunky Jewelry
If you go to TCU and you haven't seen one of these gorgeous pieces wrapped around the wrists and necks of girls at football games and parties, where have you been? If the look of them isn't enough reason to make you obsessed, they're made by fellow horned frog Lauren Godby. Watch out, Kendra Scott. LoJewels is on the rise. Follow @lojewels on Instagram for information about purchasing!
4. Flared Jeans
While skinny jeans are still very in, wider legs are making a comeback. This trend from the 70s is back, and hopefully here to stay. The flare below the knee creates flattering curves, especially when worn with chunky heels or wedges.
5. Long Bobs, AKA "Lobs"
All the long locks that women sported last year have been chopped off in 2015! This hairstyle is identifiable by its shoulder-length cut, but other than that trait, the lob has a variation for everyone! Whether blunt or choppy, ombre or mono-colored, this cut works for all face shapes.
6. Sorority Rain Jackets
Whether it's raining or not, rain jackets with Greek letters are EVERYWHERE. Each sorority has a slightly different jacket, whether they sport a colored stripe, white stripe, or none at all. Until the cold and gloomy weather clears up, these aren't going anywhere.
7. Matte Nails
If you like to grow out your nails or if you visit the salon for new acrylics every once in a while, you've probably wanted to try matte nails. They're most often seen with darker colors like navy, maroon, gray, or shades of nude.
8. Olive Green Parka
I usually avoid buying any outerwear that isn't a shade of black or gray, but these jackets are an exception. They go with everything and can be dressed up or down!
9. Suede Skirt
Similarly to flared jeans, staples from the 70s are big in 2015, especially the suede skirt. Best worn with white or black on top, the suede skirt creates a mature, minimalist look that can be worn everywhere.
10. Vests
I saved vest best for last. A fur vest dresses up a cute outfit and makes it more formal, for a dinner date with friends or going out to bars. A simpler Patagonia or North Face vest worn over a t-shirt creates the illusion that you put more thought into your outfit than just rolling out of bed in what you slept in. Whichever type you prefer, a vest is an investment that you won't regret.
