Graduating is bittersweet. Yes, it's exciting to be done with tests and endless hours of studying. There will be many things we will miss. Here are the top 10.
1. The "Campus" Feel
After being at the same school for 2, 3, or 4 years, it's going to be weird leaving campus. (For some of us, leaving our college town.) We will miss our favorite places and having our friends right around the corner. Which leads me to...
2. 24/7 Access to Friends
After college, we will be able to call our friends anytime, but probably not see them whenever we want to. I know, it's very sad. Although, that's why they invented FaceTime.
3. A Flexible (and acceptable) Eating Schedule
In college, no one cares if you order a pizza at 11:30p.m. after eating dinner at 8:00p.m. Also, ice cream for breakfast, or Macaroni and Cheese for 3 days in a row is perfectly acceptable. After college, we will have to cook. Paying school loans won't allow for dinner out every night!
4. Sweats for days
We've all had those days were we get up just in time to throw clothes on, grab our backpack, and head to class. It's about time that we get up and look presentable every day!
5. Learning
It's easy to complain about difficult classes or teachers that assign busy work, but it's going to be weird not registering for classes every semester and being excited for something new. There are plenty of classes out there that I'm sure you would still like to take, but our years are done. Time to download those brain exercise apps and renew your local library membership.
6. Just the right amount of adult responsibility
It's nice being able to do whatever we want at any time. We don't have to report to anyone and (hopefully) you haven't had too many bills to pay.
7. Saying "I'm a college student!"
Being in college is a big accomplishment! It's very exciting! Plus, when people ask you what you want to do and you say "I'm not sure yet!" it's ok, until you graduate.
8. Student Discounts
Why does it have to stop now? I'm still paying for my college! I could use that 5% discount! 5% here, 10% there, it all adds up! We aren't ready to pay full price for anything.
9. Professors
We hate them, we love them, and we will miss them, too. Especially if you are from a small school, it's easy to get to know your professors. Their support and encouragement will be missed.
10. Memories
We've made a lot of memories over the past 4 years. We have made friends, lost friends, learned a lot, and changed more than we thought we would. There are many memories we will look back on for years to come.
