Get Better HQ

1. Don't let stupid drama affect your life so much.

Drama is pointless. People will always gossip and it's best not to get lost in the middle of someone else's social problems

    2. Work on yourself, not other people.

You can't help or change people that don't want to change. As much as you want to better other people, if they don't want to better themselves then nothing you do will change them.

    3. You’re responsible for your own actions.

The things you do and say can't be blamed on someone else. It doesn't matter how they provoke you or taunt you, how you react is your responsibility and you are the one that suffers the consequences.

    4. Be patient.

Life will throw you curve balls but you have to be patient and work through the tough times no matter how frustrating it may be.

    5. Learn to love life.

I know everyone always says life is short, but it's true. Our days on this Earth are numbered and you never know if you'll wake up to see tomorrow. Enjoy the little things and you might find yourself turning into a brand new person with a whole new outlook.

    6. Don't give up.

Just because you've had a rough day doesn't mean you've had a rough life. Living in this world comes with many let downs. Don't let one mishap ruin what you have planned for your future. Get up, and try again tomorrow. It’ll all work out in the end.

    7. Be thankful.

Although you may not have what everyone else has, be thankful for what has been provided for you. Say you don't have a car. So what? You have food in your stomach, a bed to sleep on, and a roof over your head.

    8. Good friends will always stick around.

No matter what you two have been through together, you only come out stronger. Friends that stick by you through family trouble, financial trouble, and relationship trouble are the one's that will stay through everything.

    9. Don't let anyone tell you who you are.

People will try to tell you that you're a certain way, but only you know who you truly are. Don't let their stupid opinions get inside your head.

    10. Love with all you have.

We're all afraid of rejection, but who knows if you never try? Don't be afraid to open up and let go. Love is what makes us whole. No one knows when their last day will be so why not make every day a day full of love and happiness?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
