I believe there comes a point in all our lives when we realize that not every person who comes into our lives is going to have positive effects on us. Their negative presence can start subtly, but if you don't stop it soon, it will start affecting your mood, the way you think, your self image, and the way you behave. Here are some signs that give way to know when to remove certain people from your life.

Recognize Who Is Toxic:

Some people we realize instantly. They say or do something that pops up “red flags” all over our minds, and we realize immediately that they’re just going to be toxic to us. Others, though, it takes time for us to realize this. And sometimes they change throughout your relationship.

It can be a family member, a close friend, or a boyfriend/girlfriend. It's hard to realize that the people we love can actually hurt us, but it inevitably happens every day.

They Are The Only Thing You Talk About:

It's a slow fade of how much they start to creep into the innermost parts of your mind. It may not seem like it at first, but griping to your friends about the same person every minute of the day takes a lot of your energy. When they start to become your biggest topic of conversation is when it is tell-tell sign just how much power that they have over you.

You Go Back And Forth:

In no way - EVER - is it healthy to have a roller coaster relationship with someone. It is physically and emotionally draining. It makes your heart hard and makes it harder for you to trust people in the feature due to heartbreak. Dwelling in a confusing relationship can be a weight that will burden you down. Guaranteed.

You Lower Your Standards For Them:

When you feel you have to change your morals in order to better suit them, they're probably toxic. You should stick to what you believe in no matter who the person is, and if they cared for you, they would accept that.

It requires a lot of strength to cut out the toxic people in your life. Whenever you finally let them go though, you'll be surprised how much better it feels to be free.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
