We all want to have a great summer, right? Heading out to the beach, taking road trips, late nights star tipping, campfires, and the must-have playlist to jam to while doing all of these activities.

I am a singer/songwriter myself and take interest in all different types of music, so I won't be listing the top "pop tracks that everyone knows" but a few other songs that you have to take a chance and listen to, dive into, and find that they are your new jams.

1. "Love Myself" - Hailee Steinfield

This song is a jam for everyone of all ages. Hailee makes every girl feel like they are top dog and can conquer the world.

2. "Can't Stop The Feeling" - Justin Timberlake

If you don't automatically want to jump out of your seat and dance to this, just stop reading this article, 'cause it'll just be a waste of time. JT came out with a thriller than doesn't let you STOP THE FEELING!

3. "Cake By The Ocean" - DNCE

DNCE is an All-American crowd pleaser that incorporates plus size women, all races, and fun, upbeat music. I constantly jam to this song when I'm out on the boat or taking a car ride into the city. (Their whole EP is highly recommended if I must say!)

4. "New Romantics" - Taylor Swift

As most people have not heard this song besides the Taylor Swift mega fans, "New Romantics" makes you wanna run a thousand laps shouting "f*ck you" to every guy who has ever broken your heart. A classic Swift song, but you can't deny the jamming you can do listening to this.

5. "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" - Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani

Of course I had to add a country song in there. This heartbreaker of a song makes me want to scream it at the top of my lungs, riding off into the sunset. You should do it, might take off some steam that you have toward that certain someone.

6. "Me & the Rhythm" - Selena Gomez

I've never been the biggest Selena Gomez singer fan, but this song makes me want to Bossa Nova all the way over to my crush's apartment and tell him I think he's cute. Because this song is cute, right?

7. "Electric Love" - BØRNS

Ugh, he always gets me. All his songs make me want to go to Electric Forest and never return. This song is a pop jam that is unstoppable.

8. "The Sound" - The 1975

If you are now just getting into the craze of The 1975, well, they are incredible. My number one band choice as of now and probably forever. "The Sound" makes you feel in love and makes you want to fly. (Of course, if you do fly while listening to this, go see a doctor... or stop doing drugs.)

9. "A Head Full of Dreams" - Coldplay

Coldplay once again did it and came out with another jaw-dropping album, really exploring the techno side of music and embracing dance. The whole album is highly recommended but this song, this song is fire.

10. "Applause" - Lady Gaga

An oldie, but a goodie. Applause makes you feel so confident you can't contain it. It sends you out at night with a thrilling attitude to conquer the world. Lady Gaga's body positive, race positive, community attitude couldn't unite anyone better than anyone.

And that's really what we need right now, right? Let's stop fighting and enjoy this summer, this jamming summer with tunes you're going to have on replay!

Tell me your favorite summer jams below and hopefully you can give me insight into some new songs!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
