Whether it's a recent break-up you have to tackle (or even one that happened a year ago because break-ups are always the worst), or a bad, grade on a test, or something in life is just getting you down, here are songs in a wide variety of genres and styles that you will be able to relate to; Songs that will make you laugh, cry, sing-along and maybe even get up and dance. In no particular order, here's some songs to help you through your rough patch:
1. Let it Go - James Bay
Not only is James Bay really great to look at, but he also has a beautiful voice. Heres my all time favorite music video choreographed to let it go:
2. Lift - Zerbin
You've probably never heard of this band or even this song, but I promise it is just what you need to feel calm again.
3. All I Want - Kodaline
This song will tug at your heart strings, so just be ready for it. This is the perfect post-break up song to get all your tears out before you start the happy playlist.
4. Wildfire - Ben Rector
This song is a little more up-beat, yet the lyrics will go right along with your post-break up playlist.
5. House of Gasoline
I'm a huge fan of mash ups, and this is a mash up of the songs House of Gold by Twenty One Pilots and Gasoline by Halsey. They go perfectly together, and the creator of the mashup, oneboredjeu on Youtube as tons of other mashups that can add to any playlist!
6. Last Goodbye - Ke$ha
I know what you're thinking, how could Ke$ha write a song that's good during a break up, she only sings about boys and sex. That's false and Last Goodbye is the perfect example of her wide range of talents.
7. Angel With a Shotgun - The Cab
There's just something about driving through the country while screaming these lyrics at the top of your lungs that is oddly refreshing.
8. Lucky - Britney Spears
Just like with Ke$ha, here is a perfect example of a song you would not expect to hear in a break up playlist, yet it fits in well.
9. Vienna - Billy Joel
I know, it's old, and isn't this the type of music our parents listened to when they were our age? This song is perfect for a video montage in the 13 going on 30 movie, and it is also perfect for your post-break up playlist.
10. I Hold On - Dierks Bentley
I prefer the version by Angie Keilhauer from the tv show The Voice. She just brings a whole new element to the song that makes it another great addition to your playlist.
I could go on and on with this list for years, but for now I'll leave it at ten. I hope these 10 new additions to your music library will help get ya through whatever you've got going on!
