It’s officially September, which means summer has pretty much come to an end. I feel like every year, it goes by quicker and quicker. I don’t know about you, but I’m totally not a fan of winter. I cringe at the thought of being buried in my house by snow, my car slipping on black ice on a major road, or standing outside in negative temperatures. If it were up to me, I’d have summer last forever. I could give you a million reasons behind this thought, but here is my top 10.
1. Being able to walk around barefoot.
I would much rather be able to walk around barefoot than wear five pairs of socks and boots in the winter. Can’t really walk around barefoot in the snow, can you?
2. Always being tan.
I feel totally gross in the winter when I’m as white as a ghost and my skin is dry and crusty. I love to get bronzed in the summer and never deal with ashy skin.
3. The beach is always an option.
In the winter, it’s nice to go and take a walk on the beach, but those walks don’t last very long before the bitter cold gets to you. During summer, I can sit there baking in the sun for hours on end.
4. Being able to sleep late.
During the school year, I feel like I always force myself to go to sleep at a decent time even when I don’t want to. In summer, I can get home at midnight or later and sleep until noon the next day.
5. Midnight food runs.
We all know and love those midnight food runs you take with your best friends to McDonalds or Sonic just to get that cheeseburger and McFlurry.
6. No school work.
One of the best parts about summer starting means that you usually don’t have to deal with any school work for a few months. If that’s not great, I don’t know what is.
7. Being able to do whatever, whenever.
During the school year, I always have an agenda during the day. In the summer, I can do whatever I feel like doing at any time and I love to have that freedom.
8. Being able to hang out with friends any day of the week.
When school is in session, most of us are stuck inside on week nights trying to finish up our piles of homework or hours of studying. In summer, I have the freedom to be able to hang out with my friends any day of the week.
9. It's the perfect time to be lazy.
Don't feel like doing something? Summer is the perfect time to sit back, chill, and literally do absolutely nothing sometimes.
10. The warm weather.
Who could forget the best part of summer -- the warm weather? There's absolutely nothing better than walking outside in the morning in a t-shirt and shorts with the warm sun shining down on you.
So let's be honest... Do any of the other seasons really matter?
