Ya' girl loves her makeup.

Although I'm obsessed with makeup, I don't go wild with it. I'm not one to experiment with makeup or wear that much in general because I like to keep things pretty natural. I definitely don't wear makeup every day, especially in the summer months, but when I do, these are the products I constantly reach for.

1. Your Skin But Better CC Cream

This stuff's my ish. I have been using it for a few years now and have repurchased it quite a few times. It's perfect for everyday wear because it feels like a lightweight foundation. This product goes on smoothly and has amazing coverage for a CC cream, while still looking natural. Plus, it has some great benefits for your skin (hello, SPF 50).

2. Naked Skin Concealer

This would have to be my favorite concealer of all time. This concealer is easy to apply and blends well with little effort. It works well for covering blemishes or any sort of spot you're not too fond of. It's also a great product for highlighting the face. To me, it's definitely worth the price.

3. The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine

This is my go-to product for controlling shine. My skin tends to be on the oilier side, so powder is a must for me. You have to be careful not to apply too much powder, or you'll experience the dreaded cake face. I like using a light, translucent powder where I need it the most (the t-zone area).

4. Hoola Matte Bronzer

If you couldn't tell already, I'm a fan of matte makeup. This is such a multi-use product because you can really use it all over. You can use it for both bronzing and contouring purposes since it has a cooler tone. It definitely doesn't come off orange, but it does have a strong pigmentation. This bronzer is a little on the darker end, so I wouldn't go nuts.

5. NARS Orgasm Blush

I usually go for a peachy shade on my cheeks, so this is a great choice. This is a universally flattering shade, so I can get away with using it year-round. It's a pinky-peach color with subtle golden shimmer, so it's super pretty. It's sheer enough that it still looks pretty natural, which I love.

6. Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter

Everyone is all about the highlighter these days, and I'm no exception. This cream-to-powder highlighter gives you a gorgeous sheen. It's an amazing champagne color, but you have to be sure to blend it properly or else you'll look like a glazed donut (which, I don't know, could be your look). I've gotten a lot of compliments when wearing this highlighter.

7. Great Lash Clear Mascara

For those of us who are blessed with naturally fuller brows, this is all you really need. There hasn't been a day in my life that I've filled in my eyebrows, but I almost always set them with a clear brow gel. My brows are pretty thick, so I like to keep them neat-looking. This clear mascara is great for taming the hairs and keeping them in place throughout the day.

8. Naked Basics Palette

This eyeshadow palette is great for travel because it's so compact and can serve several purposes. It's also a good option for beginners because it consists primarily of matte shadows that you can use to create a bunch of simple looks. You can even use it as a softer alternative to eyeliner, which I do a lot. Since the shades are pretty basic, it's honestly hard to screw up your eyeshadow unless you go all in on the black. You do you, though.

9. Clump Crusher Mascara

I've gone through countless tubes of this stuff. It does such a good job of accentuating my eyelashes, especially for a drugstore mascara. I really like the combination of the curved wand and fine toothed brush for separating the lashes. It goes on evenly, lifting the lashes with a nice volume. I'm lucky not to have stubby lashes, so I just whip on a few coats and I'm good to go.

10. Infallible Makeup Setting Spray

If I'm going to take the precious time to do my makeup, I want it to actually stay in place and looking nice. There used to only be high-end makeup setting sprays on the market, so you had to shell out 30 fricking dollars just to lock in your makeup. Pass. Now, drugstore makeup brands are offering their own versions that are just as good, for a fraction of the price. Thanks for looking out for the broke college students out there.

These are my favorite products for creating a simple, everyday look. I like knowing that I can reach for these items at any time and not have to worry about if they're going to look good or not. For someone who likes to look presentable on a regular basis, these products are key for doing your makeup.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
