As we all know, Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us, and it is important for anyone’s significant other to have ideas up their sleeves planned for this romantic holiday. Here are some of the best date ideas we have come up with.
1. See 50 Shades of Gray. The highly anticipated movie is opening on Valentine’s Day. If you read the books and loved them, now is the time to purchase tickets in advance. Not only is it a relatively inexpensive way to spend Valentine’s Day, but it also would make a great combination with dinner.
2. Cook a nice dinner together at home. People do this quite often, but it would be even nicer with a unique menu that you would not normally cook together. If this home cooked Valentine’s dinner is enjoyable, you can make it a tradition with the same fun menu every year.
3. Book a trip to the spa. Couples massages, or spa treatments of any kind, are a great way to unwind and relax after a long work week. Any type of massage or facials rejuvenate you, and it is a great way to relax and spend time with your significant other.
4. Go somewhere secluded to watch the sunset or sunrise. If you live near a lake or in a relatively warm climate, grab a blanket and watch the sunset or sunrise with a glass of wine. Not only is it relaxing, but it is a great way to soak up the beauty around you.
5. Attend a sporting event or see a play. If you have a favorite basketball team playing on Valentine’s day, or you just want to take your man to watch his favorite team, look for tickets to purchase. Not only will it make him happy, but it’ is a great way to bond and spend time together.
6. Rent a romantic movie to watch together. If you have been dying to see a romantic movie such as The Fault in Our Stars, rent one and watch it cuddled up together.
7. Go to a random store and come out with a gift. Going to fun and funky places, such as Urban Outfitters, and sporadically buying a gift of your choice to either use that night, or later on, is always a fun idea. That way, too much thinking or over thinking doesn’t go into a gift, and it is something you are able to bond about later.
8. Taking dance classes. If you watch dancing with the stars and aspire to dance like Mario Lopez and his partner, consider taking dance classes. Not only is it good exercise, but it is always something good to learn.
9. Go to a wine tasting. If you are into wine, or are just interested in getting to know more about it, consider going to a wine tasting together. It is a great way to spend time together and experiment with different wines.
10. Make homemade desserts together. For anyone who loves sweets or desserts, this is a great way to have something to look forward to after dinner. Plus, calories never count on Valentine’s Day.
