10 Reasons Why You Should Watch Stranger Things

10 Reasons Why You Should Watch Stranger Things
Netflix

1. The suspense

The suspense is KILLER! There is something to be said for a show that can make myself, my dad and my sister all scream out loud (even though we watched with the lights on).

2. The go-to-sleep-afterwards-ability

Even though the show is suspenseful, it isn't actually that scary. The plot is realistic enough that the characters and emotions are completely relatable, but unrealistic enough that i'm not too scared to go to sleep after watching it.

3. The relationships

Hopper and Joyce, the boys and Mr. Clarke, Nance and Jonathan, Nance and Steve, Jonathan and Steve, Jonathan and Joyce, Eleven and Benny, and most importantly: El and Mike. *Sniff* :_(

4. The music

Even if you've only watched the first episode, you know the truth. That title song is never getting un-stuck from your head. Sorry not sorry.

5. The cult

Meeting someone who watches the show is like meeting another long-lost member of the family. Stranger Things is a lifestyle, people. Not everyone understands, but those who do are always welcome at my house. You want to watch an episode? Come on over, I'll bring the snacks!

6. The binge-watch-ability

It's only eight episodes on Netflix. No commercials, no interruptions, six hours is basically the blink of an eye in the life of a serial Netflix-show-binge-watcher.

7. Eggo waffles

This show is the best advertisement campaign for a breakfast food this world has ever seen. El will not leggo her Eggo.

8. The despicableness of Dr. Brenner

From the moment he is introduced on screen, watchers know to hate him. We hate his perfect white hair. We hate his clinical lab coat. We hate how he nods at El to kill the cat. We hate how he carries El and how she calls him 'Papa'. However, we LOVED when the demogorgon got him!

9. The heartbreak

Benny. El calling Brenner 'Papa.' Joyce's lights. Nance choosing Steve. ELEVEN!!!

10. Gaten Matarazzo

Even at the show's darkest and spookiest moments, Gaten (aka Dustin) never fails to lighten the mood with another witty comment, unexpected from a fourteen-year-old. "She went like this!!:" *Mimes pulling his shirt over his head*

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
