These 10 beauty and makeup girls and/or guy(s) below are my personal picks for "Best Beauty Gurus On YouTube". (These are not in order; I like them all equally):
1. ThatsHeart
About: Heart Defensor a.k.a ThatsHeart is a Philippines-born beauty YouTuber who started making videos in 2010. Her first posted video was an introduction to her channel and a 'What's in My Bag' Tag. As time went on, she started posting videos about doing her makeup and showing her fashion skills. In December of 2014, she was proposed to by her boyfriend, Arnold Telegaarta, who is also a YouTuber. Now, her channel has over 1.9 million subscribers. She now lives in California with her fiance, two cats, and one dog.
Why she makes the list: She is the first beauty YouTuber I ever watched on YouTube and I instantly loved her videos when I started watching them. Her signature makeup look is a dramatic cat-eye look with winged liner and fake but glamorous eyelashes with a pretty pink or nude lip. When I realized she collabed with bhcosmetics to make her 'ThatsHeart' palette, I knew I wanted it. I bought it and I was so excited when I got it. She is such a genuine person and she's so happy in her videos. I love her personality and her makeup skills.
2. Shaaanxo
About: Shannon Harris a.k.a Shaaanxo is a New Zealand-born beauty YouTuber who started making videos in 2010. Her first posted video was a clothing haul. It is still up on YouTube today. She started posting makeup related videos not too long after starting her channel.She also has a vlog channel called 'Shaaanxo Vlogs' where she films her day and posts the footage on her vlog channel. She lives in New Zealand still with her boyfriend Hamish who is also a YouTuber. She has over 2 million subscribers.
Why she makes the list: I started watching her videos when ThatsHeart mentioned Shannon in a video and linked her channel below her own video. I clicked on it and I started watching Shannon's videos. I was intrigued by her skills. Some of her videos start with her bare face and she looks stunning without makeup. I love that she doesn't do her makeup for anyone else but herself. She always reminds her viewers that doing her makeup makes her happy. Her favorite looks are bright and bold looks. Any type of eye shadow or lip color looks good on her. She also does Halloween tutorials and looks (perfect for this month of October). Her Halloween looks are super impressive. Her accent is awesome as well. She collaborated with bhcosmetics recently to make her own eye shadow and lipstick palette and it is still available to buy. Yes, of course I have it! She also has her own beauty website (called xobeauty) where she sells eyelashes and jewelry and other beauty products.
3. Christen Dominique
About: Christen Irias a.k.a Christen Dominique is an American beauty YouTuber who started making videos in 2009. The first video she posted was actually a beauty-related video titled "How to create fuller lips". She is one of the beauty stylists for Ipsy, one of the most popular personalized subscription services for makeup. She is married and she has one son. They live in California now with their cat. Her channel has over a million subscribers.
Why she makes the list: She is another one of those beauty YouTubers that I found from ThatsHeart. Heart and Christen are good friends. Christen has a lot of amazing makeup looks and her skin always looks flawless. Her go-to makeup look is a smokey-eye with a nude lip.She does do natural looks as well. She also does Halloween makeup and she's really good at it. Her Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad tutorial she recently uploaded is so accurate. Her personality is so bright and she is so genuine and sweet.
4. KathleenLights
About: Kathleen Fuentes a.k.a KathleenLights is a Cuban-American beauty YouTuber who started making YouTube videos in 2013. Her first video was a "Favorite MAC lipsticks" video. As she started making more videos and posting them, she gained so many subscribers in a short amount of time. She still makes videos on a regular basis and the majority of them are makeup related. She resides in Florida right now with her Army husband, Danny. Since Danny is in the Army, she has to move whenever he goes on-duty. She has no problem with moving as long as she gets to make videos and share her passion for makeup with the YouTube world. She has collaborated with Colourpop to make liquid lipsticks and other makeup products and she also collaborated with Makeup Geek to make her own Highlighting Palette. She is still getting opportunities to collaborate with makeup brands and her channel is at 2 million subscribers.
Why she makes the list: I started watching her videos last year (2015) and I was amazed by how incredible her makeup skills were. She definitely has a true passion for makeup and it shows in her videos. I love how brave she is with trying dark makeup. I also love her bright-colored looks and her reviews on makeup. With every makeup product she gets sent or buys herself, she always has a review or opinion on it to share. She usually tells her subscribers what products are worth buying in her honest opinion (I'll admit, I usually buy a product if Kathleen says it's good). I love how honest she is and I love how passionate she is for makeup.
5. NikkieTutorials
About: Nikkie De Jager a.k.a NikkieTutorials is a Netherlands-born beauty YouTuber who started making videos in 2008. Her first video was a makeup tutorial and the title of the video just a basic one called 'First Makeup look for YouTube'. In her first video, her accent is thick and a lot of people can tell she's not from the U.S.A. Now, her accent is hidden and she actually sounds American in her videos. She still makes videos about makeup and she uploads regularly on her channel. She has her own palette with Too Faced called "The Power of Makeup". She still lives in the Netherlands and she has a boyfriend who supports her 100%. She has 5.5 million subscribers on her channel.
Why she makes the list: I honestly can't remember how I found Nikkie on YouTube but I'm definitely glad I did. Her makeup looks are flawless and she's so incredibly amazing at makeup. She may have hooded eyes but she knows how to work with them and make them look more open. Her favorite looks are natural and bold with a beautiful highlighted look. She has grown so much from her first video and her skills in makeup improved a lot. I love how she created the trend "The Power of Makeup" on YouTube where people do their makeup on only half their face and keep the other half natural to show their natural beauty. The name of the palette she created was inspired by her "Power of Makeup" video and trend. I love how creative she is and how happy she looks when she does her makeup for all of her subscribers. By the way, is it just me or does she look a lot like Adele in this photo? ♥

About: Lupe N. a.k.a NaturallyBellexo is a Mexican-American beauty YouTuber who started making videos in 2011. Her first video was a 'DIY face mask'. A few years later, she started putting makeup tutorials on her channel and they got better and better as she kept practicing. Her most viewed video is her '9 Different Eyeliner looks'. That video alone has received over 33 million views. She now lives in California and she continues to make videos. She graduated from UCIrvine with degrees in Pyschology and Criminology. Her channel now has over 200,000 subscribers.
Why she makes the list: I found her channel surfing through YouTube and the first video I watched of hers was actually the eyeliner video that received over 33 million views. I started watching more of her videos and her makeup always looked amazing, especially her winged eyeliner and cut-crease looks. She is also one of the sweetest people on YouTube and I can definitely tell she would be so sweet if I met her someday. I also love how she puts a lot of effort into not only her videos but also in her life (graduating from college was a big step in her life and she worked so hard to get her degrees).
7. PatrickStarrr
About: Patrick Simondac a.k.a PatrickStarrr is a Filipino-American beauty YouTuber who started making videos in 2013. His first video was a 'Morning Makeup Routine'. He kept making videos later on and they became popular. He is known as the "man in makeup". He bases a lot of his videos on doing his makeup or doing other people's makeup. He has done makeup looks on different YouTubers and celebrities such as Shay Mitchell. He is from Orlando, Florida and he now lives in California. His channel has over 1.7 million subscribers.
Why he makes the list: I just recently discovered his channel and I am amazed by his makeup skills. He shows that a guy can wear makeup and still feel beautiful. I love his makeup skills and he makes makeup look amazing, both on him and on other people when he does their makeup. He does all types of looks on himself and other people. I love how excited he acts when he films a makeup tutorial. I can definitely tell he has practiced makeup for a while and it shows in his videos. A man can definitely wear makeup if he desires.
8. Sally Jo
About: Sally Jo Hickey a.k.a Sally Jo is a New Zealand-born beauty YouTuber who started her channel in 2013. Her first video was a makeup haul. She went to college (university as they call it in New Zealand) and she thought about doing makeup a lot so she started uploading videos while going to university. Three years later, she has a good amount of videos showing her true passion: makeup. She lives with her boyfriend and they live in Auckland, New Zealand. She is also really good friends with Shannon Harris or Shaaanxo. Her channel almost has 200,000 subscribers.
Why she makes the list: I discovered her channel from Shaaanxo's videos when she collaborated with Sally a few times. I really like how she shows how much she truly loves makeup. She loves a bright lip and flirty eye looks. Her skills are as good as a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube, yet she doesn't have a million subscribers. She definitely has the skills that show she's a true lover of makeup. She is very family-oriented and she's so sweet and genuine to her fans.
9. Jaclyn Hill
About: Jaclyn Hill (YouTube channel name and real name) is an American beauty YouTuber. She started making beauty videos in 2011. Her first video was a Kim Kardashian inspired look for Christmas. Now, she has a lot of videos that show different makeup tutorials and her fashion sense as well. She has her own highlighter made with Becca Cosmetics. She now lives in Florida with her husband Jon Hill who is a drummer. Her channel has over 3.6 million subscribers.
Why she makes the list: I also discovered her channel recently and I don't know how I didn't find her sooner. Her makeup looks are incredible. It's obvious she has been doing makeup for years. I love how she puts a lot of effort in her looks and she takes her time with them. Her favorite looks are bold smokey eyes and dark lips. Her red hair is so pretty as well. She should definitely keep making videos because she is definitely one of the best. She's really funny and sweet as well.
10. Tati/GlamLifeGuru
About: Tati Westbrook a.k.a Tati or GalmLifeGuru is an American beauty guru who started making videos in 2011. Her first video was a review on a makeup product. A few years later, she started to upload more videos about makeup, whether it was reviews, tutorials, or hauls. She has a big passion for makeup and she tells her subscribers what products are hot and what's not. She lives in California with her fiance and she continues to upload on her channel very frequently. Her channel has over 2.2 million subscribers.
Why she makes the list: I discovered her channel last year from browsing YouTube. I really liked her hauls, makeup tutorials, and reviews on makeup. The reviews are all honest and she doesn't lie about what she thinks about a product. I honestly listen to her reviews as well on a product to see if the product is worth buying. Her favorite look is a red lip or a nude lip with some bold eyelashes and glittery eyeshadow. She definitely has a passion for makeup and she loves her job as a beauty YouTuber. It's obvious she wants to be in makeup for as long as possible.
These 10 beauty gurus use makeup to showcase their beauty but they are definitely all naturally beautiful. I look up to all of them because they are so inspiring. They wear makeup for themselves and that's what we should all do. I love makeup because it is a form of expressing who we are. I chose these 10 amazing and beautiful people to be in my Top 10 List because they all have something special.
