I’ve been listening to a lot of female artists lately. One of my favorites being Ariana Grande. I’ve watched her on TV since I was little and it is so exciting to grow up while watching her grow as an artist. With three official studio albums out, it’s fair to say that Ariana has some iconic songs. Here are my Top 10.
10. Moonlight - “Dangerous Woman”
The title track off her latest album and the original album title. Moonlight is very much Ariana’s aesthetic as it has dreamy tunes and melodies as well as a belting chorus. This is a perfect love song and a great starter for an album
9. Leave Me Lonely - “Dangerous Woman”
Leave Me Lonely is a fairly new sound for Ariana as it has a more saucy melody and urgency tone to it. The vocals, as always, are impeccable and really attest to what Ariana is saying.
8. Love Me Harder - “My Everything”
This song was a popular one of her second album "My Everything." This bop is such a catchy and sexy song that will be stuck in your head for days. This track also features The Weeknd who has no trouble making any track he’s on a must have song for any pop fan.
7. One Last Time - “My Everything”
This song being a previous favorite of mine, One Last Time has such an iconic sound with its chord progression. My favorite thing about this song is its message, wanting a boy to be with you for just a minute no matter the circumstance. It’s a pop anthem about want and need all at the same time, my favorite kind of song. Not to mention the music video for this song is pretty cool too.
6. Into You - “Dangerous Woman”
My friends and I can definitely attest to anyone that this song is absolute pop perfection. The stunning opening chords and the infinite possibilities revolving choreography for this song makes it a hit. I know that whenever this song comes on in public I will have no problem dancing to this bop. This is another song that will be stuck in your head and also has a killer music video.
5. Be Alright - “Dangerous Woman”
Be Alright and Into You were very hard to place on this list as they’re both equally perfect in their own way. I ultimately put this song ahead of Into You because it is definitely one that I gravitate towards more. Being teased on her Snapchat awhile back was a very exciting moment for me as it made me super excited for her new album. Having this song inspired by Vogue; dancing and having an uplifting message, makes it an iconic bop.
4. Knew Better / Forever Boy - “Dangerous Woman”
This song being one of the last on "Dangerous Woman," it’s Ariana’s goodbye for the album. This song is a two parter with an amazing instrumental transition. This song is one of my favorites because it very much fits Ariana’s aesthetic and I love it. Knew Better Part Two on Ariana’s Soundcloud is also an amazing B-side as it bring a whole new feel to the original song.
3. Honeymoon Avenue - “Yours Truly”
This song really set Ariana’s aesthetic as a singer and songwriter. This is a huge fan favorite with many Ariana fans and is definitely a must to listen too. The symbolism of this song is very unique and creative and only something Ariana could think of. This song is super beautiful and has beautiful melodies and chorus.
2. Jason’s Song (Gave It All Away)
This song just recently came out and doesn’t have an official album tied to it, although it’s most likely a Dangerous Woman B-Side. The iconic opening piano notes never fail to make me happy. This breakup song is Ariana sticking up for herself and really coming into her own and I hope it sets a precedent for her future music.
1. Almost Is Never Enough - “Yours Truly”
My favorite Ariana Grande song. This song speaks volumes and is such a beautiful masterpiece. This is one of my go-to songs whenever I feel down and always makes me fully realize my emotions. The collaboration with Nathan Sykes makes it even more beautiful and I’ve never heard her vocals be more prominent. Truly genius production for a wonderful song.
