To break up some of the negativity that 2016 placed upon many of us, I figured we all could use some cheering up and ideas/ways to spend more time with our friends and family. Here's my list of my top 5 favorite Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" games that would be fun to try at your next party or to solve an afternoon of boredom:
1. Drinko-Plinko
This beloved childhood game, also popular at festivals and carnivals, can have a grown up twist by throwing in a few alcoholic drinks!
2. Password
Password's origins began in the early 60's with a full game show, Jimmy brings it back and uses modern terms and slang to get the audience and other contestants rolling in laughter as they try to guess the one-word hints to get the password.
3. The Whisper Challenge
This was probably my ultimate favorite game they played. On the whisper challenge, one player listens to loud musical through ear phones as their team mate tries to get them to hear what word they said... if you think you're good at reading lips, play a round of the Whisper Challenge and see if you can win!
4. Box of Lies
Box of lies seems to be an audience favorite as well. In Box of Lies, there are about 10 dark boxes that are all the same size and outer appearance as well as being numbered. The player chooses a number and takes that box and goes and sits down at a table that is mostly covered so the other player won't see the contents of the box. Once the box holder opens their box, they can either lie about what is inside or tell the truth, and the other player tries to gauge if it's a truth or a lie. This is really funny because sometimes the objects inside the box can be comical such as a record player spinning a pizza!
5. Water War
In "Water War," you play the card game "War." With 2 players, and you draw 3 cards each time, lay those face down and draw one more each face up. If your card is lower than your opponent, (in the event of a Tie, you draw three more and lay up your fourth card) he or she gets to pour water on you in the form of cups, pitchers, or water guns.
Jimmy Fallon is hilarious, even if you don't find these games fun or amusing. Just check out some of his older Saturday Night Live sketches where he famously broke-character if you don't believe me. He was a part of the SNL cast from the late 90's/early 2000's, along with Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, and Tracy Morgan just to name a few.
