January has been the month of festival lineup releases -- Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Panorama, Governor's Ball, you name it. Another big one has been Tomorrowland, one of the world's largest electronic music festivals. On January 23rd, Tomorrowland officially began unveiling its first wave of artists for 2017 with big names like Armin van Buuren, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Eric Prydz and others gracing the lineup. The festival takes place in Boom, Belgium over two weekends and is organized by ID&T, the same Dutch entertainment company that brings festival-goers Mysteryland.
Earlier in the month, Tomorrowland announced its new theme for 2017 "Amicorum Spectaculum" which is latin for "spectacle of friends". The promotional poster revealed a circus theme, with ferris wheels, trapeze artists and circus tents decorating it. Previous themes include "The Elixir of Life" (2016), "The Secret Kingdom of Melodia" (2016), "The Book of Wisdom" (2012), "The Tree of Life" (2011) and more.
This year's Tomorrowland also boasts some notable newcomer hosts and stages including Monstercat and Martin Garrix's STMPD RCRDS on Weekend 1 (July 21-23). Other curated stages to watch for on Weekend 2 (July 28-30) include Dim Mak, Spinnin' Sessions and Heldeep.
