Back when I was in high school, I witnessed one of the sweetest gestures that I had ever seen from a young man of this generation. The last bell of the day had rung and students had begun pouring out of their classrooms. I was walking with a friend and we were behind this girl who was greeted half way down the hall by her boyfriend. He was all dressed up and holding a bouquet of flowers and as he handed them to her, she fell into his arms. Being the nosey person that I am, I asked what the occasion was because although he was dressed up, she most definitely was not. She was the real-life image of wearing sweat pants, hair tied, chilling with no makeup on -- but I digress. After I inquired about the occasion, the young man responded, "Well, she was just having a bad day."
My friend and I looked at each other and let out a giant "awww!" My heart melted. This guy heard his girl was having a bad day, so he decided to dress up and surprise her with flowers after class in hopes of brightening her day.
Now, I know that it wasn't the most extravagant gesture ever, but that is what made it so beautiful. It was simple, yet thoughtful and that is all a girl really wants out of a guy.
Guys, females are really not that difficult to figure out. There's nothing more attractive than a gentleman who knows how to not only treat his lady, but women in general. A real, worthy woman is not concerned with how much money you can spend on her but how you treat her and make her feel. It may sound clichéd, but it really is the little things that matter.
Respect her, love her flaws, and protect her, even when she says that she doesn't need your protection. Show this type of care and respect for all of the women in your life, whether it be your mother, your sister, or your girlfriend. This is the type of guy that wins over the girl in the end. Being disrespectful towards women is weak and unattractive, and only insecure women are attracted to that. A lot of guys seem to think that treating women with respect or loving their girl is considered being "whipped" or emasculated.
To be a gentleman is more than just an act. It's a lifestyle. A gentleman is a chivalrous, courteous, and honorable man. That type of man is hard to come by nowadays, especially in our generation. So here's a toast to all the true gentleman out there: Your efforts to be the best man you can possibly be do not go unnoticed.
