To You

You are worth everything.

To You

To the person who thinks that the stress is never going to end: It will. This is NOT forever.

To the person who never thinks they are good enough, no matter what: You are. Remember that you were made for a reason. You have a purpose on this earth, even if you can’t see what that purpose is yet.

To the person whose parents are divorced and blames themselves: Their divorce had nothing to do with you. Cliche, I know, but it is true. They most likely had problems long before you were even a thought. Sometimes two people just weren’t meant to be together.

To the person who thinks they aren’t thin enough: You are beautiful, no matter what. Workout to make yourself FEEL better, don’t over work yourself to the point where you are hurting yourself. If you want to be thinner, do so in a HEALTHY way.

To the person who think’s they need makeup to look beautiful: Yes, makeup is an awesome thing (I love playing around with it), but you do not need it to look beautiful. You do not need to add anything to your already beautiful self.

To the person who has depression: Being depressed is normal. I am convinced that everyone is depressed at some point in their life. Find someone to talk to. Find someone that you don’t know that can listen to your every thought. Do not be afraid to ask for help because being depressed is not something to ever be ashamed about. You would be surprised at how many people (even people you are friends with) are struggling with some of the same issues.

To the person who is being abused, either physically or mentally. Man or woman. By your parents or your significant other or a friend: Get out. No one is worth that. You need to respect yourself and be around people who respect you too. You deserve the best, no matter if you think you do or not.

To the person struggling with a lifelong illness: You’ll have bad days, but you will also have really good days. Cherish the good days. Keep positive. Take care of yourself. Make sure that you are helping yourself rather than hurting yourself.

Whether you are struggling with one of these or all of these, just know that you are worth everything in the world. You are wanted. You are loved more than you know, even though you might not feel like it sometimes. But don't give up. Keep on going and most importantly, love yourself.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
