To Those Hating On Trump

We're All Allowed Our Opinions

To those hating on Trump,

He’s our next president. He did it, he won. When you’re choosing to talk bad on him, you’re choosing to not have hope in our next president. Did you listen to his victory speech? Do you know more about him than just what you have read on mass media? Maybe you should. He’s not all and all a bad guy. He’s already working for the better of America (go ahead and look up what he's already been doing). It’s not Trump that’s causing the mayhem since the elections, it’s the people of America. You may not like Trump, you may even hate him. In fact, you probably do. I don’t know many who love him. Me writing this article probably won’t receive high praise from most people that I know, but that’s okay, because we are all allowed to have our opinions. You’re allowed to talk down on him. I’m allowed to believe in him. Believe in this legal system. Believe in the government that has ran this country for years. I am allowed to believe that America will be great.

Did you know that if Clinton had won, people would still be complaining and protesting? I mean, did you look at the two major players we had running for office? Would either option have been as great as Robert Kennedy? Probably not. Side note, we really need to do a better job at choosing who will run our country. The last several years haven’t been so great for us. Anyway, back on track. No matter what social media platform you were to go on, there would be someone complaining. Someone voicing their opinion. Totally allowed by the way, the whole freedom of speech thing. But, why would you talk bad on the person who is supposed to run our country? Why would you already be wanting impeachment? Give the man a chance. Half of you are acting like children, throwing tantrums because you didn’t get your way. News flash, neither did a lot of Americans, but you don’t see them complaining or protesting. You don’t see them saying, #NotMyPresident. Hate to break it to you, you live in America, therefore, he is. There has to be a reason why Trump won the electoral vote. People had reason to vote for him. And no, it wasn’t just because he wasn’t Clinton. I myself, did not vote. I know I know, every vote counts. I should have voted, blah blah blah. I’ll tell you why I didn’t vote, I didn’t favor any candidate. I am writing this article with an open mind. You, as an American citizen, should be viewing the results of this election with an open mind. Hoping for Trump to fail, is like hoping for your pilot to crash the plane that we are all on. I genuinely hope the man surprises you and is one of our country’s greatest presidents.

The president doesn’t determine if we are loving, kind, or accepting towards each other. We do. No matter what, we make that choice. Remember that.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
