I may be biased, but I don't care! I think my mommy is the best mom in the whole wide world. I bet many of you believe your mother is also and that may be true. There is so much that mothers do that we don't give them enough credit for. They were the ones that brought us into this world, raised and nurtured, and cared for us for many years. I would like to dedicate this article to my beautiful mom along with all the other great moms out there. They deserve so much! So here are just a few things that I would personally like to thank my mother and you may also want to thank yours for too!
1. She is always there for you when you are happy, but also when you are lonely and sad.
I know I have called my mother a few times already during college. I sometimes get so overwhelmed with my workload or so upset over a grade that it soothes me to unload my problems to her. She is always willing to talk and listen and the best part is, she never judges me. Instead, she gives me helpful advice and always finds a way to make me smile or laugh.
2. She will never forget your birthday and will sing to you when the clock strikes midnight.
Yes, my mother does this! Sometimes I think her singing gets a bit much, but I love her anyways! She is an amazing singer and her voice is so calming. When I was young, she would rock me and sing me to sleep every night. In the morning, she would wake me up by singing obnoxiously (I didn't like it that much), but it would get me up for school!
3. She will be honest with you at all times, even when you don't look good in something or you are acting like a brat.
Sometimes honesty hurts, but it is better than being lied to. I know I can count on my mother to give me honest opinions on the clothes I wear and if there is something in my teeth. It is better to have her be honest with me in private before somebody is in public! I can vouch that my mom has a very blunt and honest personality but that's another reason that I love her so much. When a mother and daughter are honest with each other, their relationship grows stronger and we learned that together
4. She always puts her children (you) before any man or anyone for that matter.
My mother has told me and everyone around her at the given time who is most important in her life: her children. She always tells me that she would do anything for me and my siblings even if her life depended on it. She says we are her world and she couldn't live if we weren't living as well. My mother has the biggest heart and I know I can be such a terrible daughter at times, but she looks past that. She doesn't care what I do to hurt her for her love for me (as well as my siblings) is unconditional. That kind of love only comes from a mother.
5. She supports you even after you become an adult and leave home for college.
She pays for your phone bill, your car insurance and registration, your medical and dental bills. She also supplies you with some cash towards college debts, gives you spending cash, buys you food and necessities, and sometimes (when you suck up a little to her) she buys you what you want. My mother is so generous with her money that I don't feel I deserve it. She has so much to pay for the way it is, including but not limited to, supporting her other four children, mortgages, gas, groceries, house renovations, emptying the septic tank, and lots and lots of bills.
This is my beautiful mother whom I love very much and these are only a few of the wonders she performs. Every great mother out there is a true blessing and they deserve to know. So tell your mother how great she is and that you love her unconditionally, just as she loves you. And if your mother is like mine, she will probably start crying (which I bet you mine will do once she finishes reading this). But no worries it is tears of joy! Tell her because she deserves to be happy; she deserves the world! I love you mommy and I will never stop loving you. Someday you won't be there for me anymore, but you will always be in my heart.
