November 10th came as a surprise to many Americans.
Not just because of the newly elected president, but because of the response.
There was outrage, upset, happiness, and victory. Yet, that response is still being protested. The excuses to why Hilary lost are never ending, but there has been one that has caught my eye. Many women who were "with her" turned against every woman who was not. Voting against Hillary meant that you were sexist. It meant that you did not want to see a female in power, that you did not support your self-interest or gender, and that you are not a strong, independent woman.
But I tell you, it’s just the opposite.
Hillary’s rejection is a true testament to how far women have come in this country. Yeah, sure, we didn’t vote for our first woman president, because now we can vote for one who is actually worthy of it; not one being continuously investigated by the FBI, not one with a history of lies, but a woman who would make Susan B. Anthony and every other woman who has ever stood up for their rights as a female, proud.
Women shouldn’t vote for a female candidate just because she has the same parts. Do you really want your daughter to look at Hillary Clinton as a role model? Or as the person who represents the last one hundred years of successful american woman? Women should vote for a candidate that respects the greater good in America and one that they can rise under. Political views aside, her victory was not going to be for all women, it would be for one woman, a nasty woman.
