Dear teacher,
You have known me know for over two years now, been on multiple trips with me, and even taught me in some of your classes. I'm here to thank you. I want to thank you for doing what you do; you go above and beyond of what a teacher does and I commend you for that. I guess the best place to start out is the beginning of freshman year.
In freshman year, I had no idea who you were. You were just another stranger, and a potential teacher, one that I did not think that I would get so close to. Once school started, I was still getting adjusted to being a student in college, and having a non-block schedule, but you were the one thing stable in my life. Throughout the rest of the month and into midterms, you were there if I needed you to be.
Moving onto to November, with just a couple of weeks left of the fall semester, a group of us and some teachers went to Colorado for a five-day conference. While we did not interact much, during those five days, you did see a more relaxed side of me and realized that I possibly have potential in this major. Finishing off my fall semester of my freshman year, I had high hopes of the spring semester and what adventures it would bring.
Fast forwarding, to the end of the spring semester I was announced as president of the club that you run, I guess you could say that you had enough trust in me. Summer comes and goes, and we both start the next semester of college. By now you have gotten to know me a lot more and are looking forward to seeing where I can go in life.
Progressing onward, it is springtime now, and that means jobs and internships. You were more than willing to help out with anything from resumes to recommendations; you not only saw potential in me, but in everyone.
Now here we are in the summer of my junior year, looking forward to my fall semester as finally I get to have you as my teacher. Not only do I look forward to having you be my teacher, but I also look forward to going to New Orleans together, in October. I look forward to seeing how you teach, and how your view on life can impact mine.
I am writing this letter to you, as a way to show you that I do pay attention to everything you say, as well as I hope you do the same. You have given me hope and passion, even during some of the worst times. I never thought that I would find a teacher in college, who has kept me going and convinced me not to change my major a thousand times.
So if you manage to read this at some point, I want to thank you. Thank you for all that you do, I do not know how I would have gotten through these past two years, if it was not for you, I have no idea what I would be doing. I thank you and wish you all the best.
Yours truly,
Your student
