I can’t say thank you enough times for all that you have given me, but I hope this begins to tell you.
I remember you telling me once that I had to be confident in myself and I could do anything. You gave me the courage to pursue what I am best at and not be ashamed of myself or what I love. Everyone is different and you praised the class for being unique. You encouraged our creativity and gave us enough freedom to let ourselves discover all that we could. You made learning fun. You always came to school ready to go and I felt like I owed you this same kind of enthusiasm.
You never doubted me. I hated making you upset because you were always the one who believed in me. There were times where I really doubted myself and I knew in the back of my head that I had to do what you told me which was to never give up, even when I thought I was at my lowest point. I never wanted to disappoint you even from far away because you had given me so much and taught me what to do in certain situations.
You reminded me that I can’t always have my way. You disciplined me, but just enough to make sure I never made the same mistakes. You were never harsh, but never hesitated to put me in my place. Guiding me in this way has helped me grow to be more aware of others and their feelings and how placing them before mine, even though it is difficult, can be the right thing to do.
You were honest with me and you taught me how to be this way too. You never ever gave up on me, even when I gave up on myself. You showed me how to be strong when I didn't know how and that things will get better, I just have to work hard and believe it will. You let me know that change isn't always a bad thing and that good really may be in my future.
You taught me more than how to format a proper essay. You showed me that opening the door for a stranger or smiling at someone who seems down is a perfect way to show that you care. You gave so much of yourself, so that we could go out into the world and become a successful member of society. You gave me the tools to grow and flourish in my studies and in the world. You made me confident and capable to become whatever I wanted to be.
I know I have told you this before but you are truly the kind of person I want to grow up to be. You inspired me to become successful as well as try to be an inspiration for others. I also know that I'm just one of the many students you have taught and impacted, but I can't imagine where I would be without you. You are the perfect role model and my life is better because you were in it.
Thank you for everything!
